We are looking for a full time groom to help us undertake all the day to day activities running a busy part livery yard.

Applicants must be reliable, hard working with good customer skills. Equine experience is essential as is a kind, horse centred approach. An enjoyment of working with young people would also be a plus as would an interest in running small on-site shows and other activities for liveries.

7 hour day, 8am - 5pm with two hours for lunch allowing you to ride your own horse or pop home and relax. Four or five day week INCLUDING a Sunday (non-negotiable).

Good rate of pay commensurate with experience and qualifications. Option for staff livery. Due to insurance we can only accept applications from OVER 18s.

Is your child having lessons with us and would like to experience what it is like to own their own pony for the day??

These days are aimed for our customers that are 8yrs and over that can Walk, Trot, canter and learning to jump. Your child MUST be confident with handling ponies, the day will be fully supervised

Maximum of 10 riders per day

The days run from 9.30 - 430pm a packed lunch will be required.
The riders will get 2 rides and will get to learn all about how to look after their ponies.

🤩🤩PHOTO DUMP!! 🤩🤩

What an exciting week we have had! 😀

This week we have been super busy with Camp one 2024 and for some riders this was their first ever camp!

Lots to report with getting stuck in with Health and safety theory saving dear Buzz from an unsafe environment, ride and road safety, getting hands on with loading practice, and so much more!

Then a lot of riding 'firsts' for most with cantering ba****ck, no hands, cross country riding, taking part in a competition, balancing with a saddle on a barrel - just so much endless fun! 🥰

Our last day was done a little differently this camp!
Plaiting skills that they learnt in theory were put to good use to turn their ponies out wonderfully for their final day riding!
The children had been practicing all week for a drill display (even on foot), which was absolutely incredible to watch it all come together, seeing the team work building and showing their beautiful display off to their parents. Then in the afternoon, everyone took part in a show jump competition which was the perfect way to end a successful Camp 1 of 2024!

🦄🦄 Pony Fun Morning 12th August🦄🦄

A Pony Fun Morning aimed at Children ages 5-11 years who have not ridden before or have limited experience with horses.

The Morning will run from 10am until 1pm and will cost £28 and will include a riding session

The Pony Fun Morning will include meeting all our wonderful horses & ponies, learning about grooming, points of the horse, how to clean tack, the points of the tack and also learn how to care for your horses/ponies in the stable and cover some yard duties.

Children on the lead rein may require parents to stay and lead them (we would make sure this is the earlier riding session).

We can provide hats and boots for riders but sadly not able to lend out body protectors however children can ride without if parents are happy for this.

It was such a gorgeous hot day on Thursday that I decided to take the younger 4.30 group for a little splash in our river. Some of the ponies were a little excited to be in the field at first and some were a bit hesitant to get their feet wet but we all worked extra hard getting them focussed and confident and by the end they were loving a cool splash around. We are so lucky to have this beautiful little river at the bottom of our fields! What a treat for us all 🥰

We would like to inform all customers that once again we will be prioritising the welfare and health of our horses and ponies in the run up to the summer holiday by undertaking our annual NO JUMP JULY.

Jumping - whilst fun, exciting and adrenaline fuelled - is one of the more strenuous activities we ask of our horses. Landing on hard ground, galloping on undulating surfaces and accomdating the errors of novice riders all puts considerable strain on our ponies’ joints, tendons and muscles.

In preparation for a fun filled busy summer we have decided not to run any group jump lessons for the month of July so our horses go into the holidays as fit and strong and full of energy as possible.

We hope you will join us in supporting the welfare of our ponies in this way. We have asked our loaners not to jump either so the horses are fully rested.

We will still be running the odd private jump in the week and also the stage 1 and 2 jump sessions on Thursdays but all other jump lessons will be replaced with flat work or maybe even hacking if the weather allows.

Would your child like to get more hands on with the ponies on the yard?

We are now offering helper club!!

This is to run every Sunday 9am - 5pm to be a groom for the day, assist with catching in/turning out and all in between including a 45 minute ride!

Helper Club is suitable for ages 10 years and above who are also able to walk, trot and canter.

We are starting Helper Club from Sunday 19th May.

Do you have a horse mad little one and looking for something to do with them before they go to school?

We are now offering Preschool Ponies every Thursday starting 2nd May! This is for children aged 2-4 years old.
This session includes getting hands on with our ponies, giving them a groom, followed by a ride and then putting the ponies back to their stables ending with a relaxing chat having a cup of tea/coffee and a biscuit. This session is an hour long and will be seasonal.
