🐶🤧Kennel Cough🤧🐶

As part of the exceptional service we offer here at Clifftop Boarding Kennels, we have a duty of care to keep all customers updated with any changes or information that may impact your dog's health.

Kennel Cough seems to be present in the local area, so we are asking customers to please be extra vigilant. We obviously have disease prevention protocols in place, but kennel cough (Bordetella) is very easily transmitted, especially through the air via coughing and sneezing.

Symptoms vary in severity, from lack of appetite & energy to a hacking cough & runny nose. We do not insist on the kennel cough vaccination, but our policy is not to accept any dog within 4 weeks of the date of vaccination. This is because the dog can shed the virus.

We will continue to provide the high level of service you expect, and your dog's health and care will always be our top priority. This is an ever changing situation in which we will continue to monitor & keep you updated.

Today we bid farewell to our wonderful staff member Conor.
Conor has been a fantastic employee, taking great care of all the dogs and cats holidaying with us & assisting with the care & welfare of our rescue dogs. He is moving on to become a dog trainer and we wish him all the success 😊
Thank you Conor, for all your hard work & all the scrumptious cakes you've made us 😋 We shall miss you 🫡🙂

Due to a significant increase in our running costs we are having to adjust our prices. Our new boarding prices as of 1st April 2024 are £19 per dog or £17 if a dog is sharing a kennel.

We understand that any price increases are not good news and we always aim to delay and minimise these changes for as long as we can. Unfortunately, due to the increase in the cost of utilities and another forthcoming increase in national minimum wage we have had to make this difficult decision.

We thank all of our customers for choosing us to look after your furry family members and we look forward to continuing to do so.

The new prices will come into effect on April 1st, 2024.

We will of course honour any bookings already made for 2024 before the notification of this price increase.

*Dogs under exemption law*

Hello everyone. Just a quick update to say that we DO accept exempt breeds for boarding. We must see their exemption certificate and they must bring in their own muzzle. We will muzzle the dogs in the public areas, as per the requirements of exemption. This is Bruce, one of our regulars, happy in our kennel environment, out on a walk.

It is apparent that kennel cough is rife in Lincoln and the surrounding areas. We do have disease prevention protocols in place but kennel cough is very easily transmitted, especially through the air via coughing and sneezing.

We have recently had a case on site, the owners stating their dog was coughing slightly as had just been on a long walk & had been pulling on a slip lead. This, sadly, was not the case and it soon became apparent to staff that the dog did have kennel cough. The dog in question has since gone home.
