🌟Meet Titan,🌟
This fantastic boy is a 3yr old Maine C**n, who was in with us yesterday for a Ventral Bullar Osteotomy.👂🐱
Titan has had trouble with his right ear for some time, it was red, itchy and smelly and didn't seem to get any better with cleaning or ear drops.
He first came to us a few weeks ago for a CT scan of his head, so we could get a better image of what was causing him pain. He had polyps removed from his ear previously, but it appeared that they had regrown and was the reason for his discomfort. 😢
The Ventral Bullar Osteotomy surgery involves making a small opening in the neck to gain access to the "bulla" and removing the bottom of the bony canal along with all infected material (polyps in Titans case) in the middle ear.
The "bulla" is the middle ear cavity. When this cavity becomes severely infected, or when a foreign item, polyp, or tumor is located in it, it can become incredibly painful for cats and dogs alike.
Titans surgery and recovery went well, and he received lots and lots of love from all of our team. ❤️❤️❤️
This is him with our Nurse Jenny, giving him a proper bosie! 🥰
