*Important Update*

Hi all. I have managed to secure a promotion in my main job and have made the decision to not take on any new dogs and will also be cutting back on boarding next year.

All of the licensed boarders are listed on the Highland Council website. Note - Boarders must be licensed and either have their license on display or made available to you on request.

There is also a Facebook group called Highland Home Dog Boarders where alot of the pet sitters and boarders are members. You can join, place a post and if someone has space they will respond.

It's a real shame I have to do this (I would much prefer to give up my main job and just look after dogs 🤫🤣) but my health has also been deteriorating trying to do 2 jobs so I have to prioritise myself and concentrate on my new job.

All bookings for this year and next year are secure 🤗

Emergency Situations

I hope that an emergency situation never happens but unfortunately they do and following a recent experience which was stressful for all parties, I wanted to highlight the following.

I love nothing more than seeing you all go away knowing you can relax because your dog is in a safe and loving home. It's one of the main reasons I love this job.

However, emergency situations can unfortunately happen and it's not always due to a dog becoming ill or injured. I can also become unwell, injured or have a family emergency. There may also be situations where a dog is upset and will not settle. I am also entitled to terminate a stay if I find the dog is too boisterous/destructive.

Depending on the situation my mother and friends can assist me but I would only allow them to help with manageable dogs and it would only be for a short period of time.

Owners will always be my first port of call in any emergency but an alternative contact should be provided for situations where you are likely to be uncontactable or unable to collect your dog in a suitable timeframe.

I will only ever terminate a dogs stay with me if it is absolutely necessary.

Whilst this is something that should most definitely be the last thing on your mind when you leave a dog in any care service, it is definitely something that should be considered.

So please, to alleviate as much stress or upset as possible, please have a suitable emergency plan in place and I will do my absolute best to ensure it is done with everyones best interests at heart 🙏🏼

Polite request 🤗

I know we all have busy lives and easily forget stuff but it would be amazing if people could be a bit more mindful when booking a meet and greet with me and unable to attend or no longer require my services. Iv had a few people not turning up on the day with no communication.

I allocate an hour of my time for meet and greets and have to schedule them in on my time off between dog boarding and my other job. I don't get paid for meet and greets but if I have them booked in I turn down day care/short stay dogs so I am effectively losing out on time and money.

I send reminders a day or 2 before and can be contacted via messenger, email or phone.

Please please please if you cannot attend or don't need the meeting anymore, even if it's on the day, just send a wee message 🤗

I often get requests for regular day care but unable to offer space because I am so booked with the boarding and don't mix my dogs.

What a clever wee pup, so good at communicating with you. Absolutely crazy too and loves nothing more than tearing through bushes, muddy puddles and chasing after bally 🤣🫶🏼🐶 every walk ended with her needing showered and all the twigs, sticky willows and everything else known to man stuck to her removed 🤣🤣🫶🏼🫶🏼🐶🐶 hopefully see her again soon 🤗❤️🐶

My last dog of 2023 was a Milly and my first dog of 2024 is a Millie 🥹🥰🐶❤️ This gorgeous wee toot is in for Day Care to build up her confidence with me ahead of her long stays later in the year. Isn't she just the cutest 😍

Happy New Year everyone 🤗❤️ Hope you are well and had a nice Xmas etc.

Iv had some well needed time off 🤗 taking a wee bit more time off Jan/Feb also to work on a personal goal but have some space for short stays.

2025 bookings are coming in thick and fast (can't believe I am saying that 😱❤️🤗) and I have very limited long stay availability this year so I urge my regulars to please try and book in advance as much as possible 🙏🏼

To all pet parents who are booked on our courses or any new owners, who have a new puppy and wish to learn all about them.

Bren and the Highland Canine Coaching team, will be giving a talk on Monday 8/1 at 5.30-7.30pm in Pampered Pets Inverness(without your pets),
on puppy/dog behaviour, ie puppy biting, jumping up, potty training. We will teach you how to understand and communicate with your puppy through body language and positive reinforcement.

How to recognise when they are anxious or stressed and what to do to make them feel safe, relaxed and confident puppies/dogs plus lots more.
