🐾 The gorgeous Mirabelle was in for her spay and came back for her 3-day post-op check 😍 This sweet little Bengal is doing great, and we couldn’t resist sharing how adorable she looks in her pet suit! 🐱💖 The suit helps keep her from licking her wound, and we think she rocked it! 🥰
🦠 What is Kennel Cough?
A contagious respiratory infection in dogs caused by a combination of viruses and bacteria, affecting the airways.
🐕 Symptoms to Watch For:
Dry, hacking cough
Gagging or retching
Runny nose
Lethargy or mild fever
🏥 Prevention:
Vaccination: Annual booster vaccines protect your dog.
Avoid crowded places: Kennel cough spreads easily in kennels and dog parks.
💉 Treatment:
Most cases are mild and resolve with rest, but consult your vet if symptoms persist.

🐾 It's that time of year again—kids are heading back to school! While we're busy getting them ready for a new academic year, let's not forget about our furry friends at home Pets can feel lonely or anxious with the sudden change in routine ✏️
Here are some tips to help your Pets adjust :
Fergus has been with us since he was a pup and through the years we have all gotten to know him very well 🩵🐾
At the start of this year however he had a RUFF time when his skin had a major flare up. West Highland Terriers can be prone to skin conditions but seeing Fergus in this state we all came together to help support his owner. His irritation caused him to go off his food and his weight began to drop 🩺
Our wonderful nurses made it their mission to get him bathed three times a week ⭐
Fergus quickly became a regular with ourselves and even had his own kennel through the back 🛁 With the right medication and continuous baths with medical shampoo Fergus is doing amazing ⭐
With perseverance and hard work from people at home and in the practice Fergus is looking better than ever 😍 Even gaining weight and whilst we loved seeing him on a regular basis it was a good sign that we were going to see him less.
We still get to see Fergus every two to three weeks for a bath and check over but we are so happy with his progress ⭐🐾🩷

Reggie had a rough start to July when he was out for a walk and endured a stick injury to his leg. The stick caused his skin to rip open, and emergency treatment was provided 🩹 Please be cautious if you choose to view the attached image ⚠️
The good news is that Reggie is now doing much better after his procedure and his leg is healing nicely! 💪🐾
He continues to be a happy boy even trotting into our Argyle street practice for his post op check ⭐

As the weather warms up, many pet owners are enjoying longer walks with their furry friends ☀️ More outdoor time means more chances for pets to pick up ticks.
Here in the Highlands, we've seen ticks appearing much earlier in the year. Pet owners need to stay alert and check their pets for ticks after every walk 🐶
🐾 Found a tick on your pet? Remove it ASAP to reduce the risk of tick-borne diseases! 🕷️
🔴 DO NOT squeeze, crush, or pull it off!
✅ Use a tick hook (cheap & easy to find)
❌ Avoid tweezers – they can leave the head behind, causing infection.
1️⃣ Slide the tick hook under the tick
2️⃣ Twist & pull – the whole tick should come off
3️⃣ Wear gloves to stay safe
4️⃣ Dispose of the tick by crushing it in tissue and flushing it down the toilet

True came in for her first round of vaccinations and will return in a couple of weeks for her second set 💉

Our human inpatients have successfully completed 21 hours of the kennels stay so far 💪🐾 They have been visited by staff and loved ones and been let out for regular toilet breaks 🧻 Supplied with lots of treats and feel so overwhelmed with the amount of support and donations from everyone 💙 We have soared past our goal and are so thankful for the determination and perseverance of all the staff involved 🥹 They are looking forward to getting a good nights sleep tonight in a bed 🤣
Today we have our Vet Sam showing us how he administers acupuncture to one of our most elegant patient’s Bonnie🐾😊 Bonnie has been having acupuncture for nearly a year now and the change in her is astonishing! The lovely Bonnie was not always this happy and calm when it came to vet visits but with patience and time getting to know Sam and our practice, she now thoroughly enjoys her monthly visits💛 At the fine age of 14 Bonnie came to us struggling to make it up the stairs and her back legs were causing her some issues but by having these acupuncture sessions each month with Sam her back legs and mobility have improved immensely, and she has a new lease of life🥰 If you think acupuncture is something that your pet might benefit from, our Vet Sam is happy to discuss any queries you may have🩺Sam has also written a more in-depth description of acupuncture and what the treatment entails which we will be uploading onto our website very shortly🐶🐱 #veterinarian #crownvets #lovedogs #heretohelp #accupuncture #treatments #spreadlove #crownvetsinverness #vet
Lubo was in for his castration at Argyle Street last week and really enjoyed his peanut butter lickimat in recovery! This is just one of the ways we keep your pets calm and stimulated during their stay with us and it hopefully makes the whole experience that bit better for them! Our aim here at Crown Vets is to minimise the fear pets have when coming to the practice. Being gentle and giving lots of treats is a big part of that.
