With quarantine we ensure that the pets in our charge receive the best possible care, attention and stimulation to keep them active and happy, good food, toys and humans to play with and as much TLC as they would like. We ensure that they go home with no psychological hangups and as one lady said "Its like a timewarp, it's as though they have never been away". Another owner with three labradors told us "I can't believe it, they came home and into the house, went and sat in their beds and behaved as though they had just been for a walk down the road". These are the sort of comments that tell us that we are getting it right. The quarantine cattery is light and airy. Each unit has a window with a window seat. There are fleece blankets in the bedrooms and a fleece blanket on the window seat and on the chairs. Although the chairs are for the guests mums and dads are allowed to use them when they come to visit. The cattery is electrically heated and the temperature is thermostatically controlled. The cats have covered litter trays, scratching posts and toys to amuse them and of course staff to play with them. BOARDING
Our dog boarding kennels all have attached, fully covered outside runs with an interconnecting door to the bedroom area. The dogs have access all day to their bedrooms and come and go as they please. The kennel bedrooms have full hot blown air central heating so the whole building is cosy and warm and the dogs can move around happily without feeling cold. There are several large exercise areas for play time and a great time is had by all when chasing balls, playing with room mates. Playtime is always supervised by a member of staff who very happily joins in the fun. Each individual dog or family of dogs has their turn to play. The boarding cattery has spacious units with a fleece blanket as a floor blanket, beds with cosy fleece blankets, scratching post and plenty of room for exercise. Owners are very welcome to bring their pets own beds, blankets, toys etc. if they would prefer. If they become soiled we would replace their own blankets until we had washed and dried the pets own and it would then be returned to them fresh and clean. We are very happy to accept animals with health problems such as diabetics, epileptics, arthritis etc. The only animals we are unable to take are those which are infectious or contagious to our other guests. We have a vet visit the premises 6 days out of 7 and on call 24 hours. PET SHOP
We have a pet shop and stock a wide range of dog and cat beds from the basic plastic beds, duvets and very luxurious fur fabric top of the range Lucky Pet beds. Fleece blankets. Grooming equipment, brushes, combs, electric pet clippers nail clippers etc. and we are more than willing to advise on the best product for your pet and also to explain how it should be used. A wide range of collars, leads, Training Leads, harnesses prices start at about £1.50 and the luxury collars at £56 and everything else in between. TOYS - Soft toys, squeaky toys, interactive toys, chew toys and much more. SALTERS pet food. Most brands can be obtained to order. WILDLIFE SANCTUARY - Wherever possible rescued wildlife is released back into the wild. Occasionally this is not possible and these animals and birds are looked after for the remainder of their lives.

This was a tiny puppy who was abandoned in quarantine with us. I came across it while sorting through some videos. Seeing how gently my Akita played with her brings back so many memories. The puppy went to a loving home, well socialised, outgoing and happy.

Did you know that we also do wildlife rescue? Wild birds, including raptors, hedgehogs etc. If you see a fledgeling which may have fallen from the nest, the parents may be nearby. Leave it for a couple of hours before rescuing it. This little one was found on a path - no parents seen, a hungry crow was waiting to pounce.

This is little Keri from Ukraine - she was delivered to her new home yesterday after spending three months in quarantine with us. She is so full of fun, always made us laugh with her antics. We really appreciate seeing her so happy back with her family. Thank you Ohla for allowing me to share this video.

Puppy love. I think the comment should be "isn't it her bedtime yet?" Dharla and Kiana having a mad half hour.

I think someone is trying to tell me something. She is trying to reach into my Akita's food dish but can't quite manage it. Dharla is about 16 weeks old. She arrived at Aquithie Quarantine Kennels when she was roughly 4 weeks old, she was not fully weaned and could only lap sloppy food. At the moment she is staying as a house guest but will probably be looking for a new home In a short time. She is a little Pug but is always going to be small. What she lacks in size she certainly makes up for in character.
