Devana Dogs Agility We are a friendly dog training club with a training field on the Fetternear Estate near Kemnay. See our events page for more info.

Dog Training Club based on the Fetternear Estate, offering various training, including all levels of Agility, Life Skills and specific classes such as Spaniels, including various workshops and 1-2-1 training sessions Our fun shows and guest trainer events are held at Tillyoch Equestrian Centre between Westhill and Peterculter. We offer training for all levels of agility, and run regular beginners

blocks which focus on foundation work and developing a working relationship between you and your dog. We host a Winter Fun Show series with trophies for the best G1-3 and G4-7 over the Winter. In 2017 we started running our Life Skills classes. These classes are for owners who want to develop their relationship, build understanding and get help and advice on any day to day issues. Any age and all breed of dogs welcome. This class is a great prelude to our beginner's Agility block or for those not yet confident at working in a group with their dog.

We are so lucky to have such a tranquil and idyllic field to train in. Even when it’s covered in thick snow it’s just stunningly beautiful.

Not much has been happening here of late. We are looking forward to the thaw next week to get back to some training.

We always like to do something ‘fun’ for the last training session of the year.

We had a lovely tunnel course set up, handlers ran the course in two parts, then ran the course as a whole, everyone smashing the course.

We then added a little twist - temptation alley with a difference….. handlers really had to work hard at keeping their dog’s attention (some more than others). The dogs had to run the course they had already completed however there were yummy treats and tempting toys strewn across the ground. There were a couple of dogs who found this challenge super easy so the trainers had to intervene by chucking in toys randomly.

Great fun had by all 💕

Devana Dogs Agility 28th December 2024 Fun Show is now available to enter on https://www.showtime-online.co.uk/, schedule is available to download from their site.

As you will probably know, we had to cancel our November Show due to the extreme weather conditions. If you had entered the November show, your entry has automatically been transferred over to our December show. If you are unable to make this show, please contact us and we will refund you the entry fee minus 10% admin fee. To receive your refund email [email protected] with your bank details before 8th December.

Our show this year are being held at Strathorn Farm, Inverurie AB51 5EJ on the Judge is Pamela Keith, and this is our Christmas Fun Fun Show.
You can choose the height you run at (doesn't have to be your measured height) and training in the ring is allowed.
You will see from the schedule that all classes with be run as Combines 1-7. This is due to the very low numbers of 4-7 dogs at last year’s shows, with results being split 1-3 and 4-7 as normal. This will be reviewed on a show by show basis, and will result in less waiting times between classes for our competitors
Catering is by Mr Chipper’s van, and payment is either cash or card. Millie’s Paws will not be at the show, and I would suggest that is you want to purchase anything, call Sheila or Gary at the shop, (01651 821979) and you will be able to pick it up from the show.

New equipment day

Love a new equipment day 💕 These jumps will also be so much easier to build for our fun shows 💕

We will have beginners agility classes starting mid-April (Monday 2pm, Wednesday 12 noon, Thursday evening at 7.30pm (currently full), Saturdays starting from 12 noon). We have an extensive waiting list to get through so if you are on the waiting list expect an email in the coming weeks (please ensure you check your junk folder as it’s not unknown that some emails land up there). We also plan to re-run the beginners block mid-August. For anyone not already on our waiting list and if you would like to know more please drop us an email to [email protected]. Dogs should be from 6 months of age, have general obedience (sit, stay, good recall) and get along with other dogs.

Today saw the last of our ‘April’ beginners blocks finishing. We have been really lucky with the weather over the last 8 weeks. Here is a little clip of a couple of our Saturday students putting a small sequence together on their final week. We love seeing the huge difference in all the dogs that participate in our beginners blocks - their confidence over the 8 weeks just grow and grow We will be looking to put on other blocks at the end of August.
