Meal Worms 🐛
High in protein, high in calories, and a fantastic treat for little birds. These tubs of dried mealworms are ideal as you don’t need to transfer them for storage, and because the worms are dried, they last even longer.
Did you know, barn owls have such good hearing that they can locate prey by sound alone.
Their ears are particularly good at detecting the high-frequency sounds emitted by small mammals moving in vegetation. Experiments have shown that can capture prey in total darkness by hearing alone.

Get out in the garden this weekend and join in our 🐦
This weekend we're on the lookout for Blackbirds! 👇
Blackbirds aren’t always black! Sometimes, they may have patches of pure white in their plumage – these are called leucistic blackbirds. Though leucism is poorly understood, it is thought to be caused by a genetic mutation and particularly affects male blackbirds and blackbirds in urban areas. It has also been seen in crows, jackdaws and house sparrows.

What is the Dawn Chorus? 🐦
The first bird begins to sing an hour before sunrise. Amongst those early rises are Blackbirds, Robins and Skylarks. Followed by those more sensitive to the cold including Warblers and Wrens.
Singing is strenuous work but, it pays off. Females will choose a mate who produces the best and strongest song!
