Mantrailing is such an amazing thing to do with your dog. It allows them to do what comes naturally to them (sniffing and searching) whilst working with you and creating a bond and working partnership. Nosework and mental stimulation is so much more tiring for dogs than running and ball chasing so ditch the balls and use the nose. Go look and book - you absolutely won't regret it.

Eeeek...the excitement is building!!

We are buzzing to be hosting some amazing canine professionals as part of our Open Day!

We view working with dogs through a very holistic lens and taking the WHOLE dog into account.

This can often mean enlisting the support of other experienced people to support your dog in the best possible way!

Often however until we are told we aren't aware of other support available.

We are so lucky in Ayrshire to have AMAZING people that support our own and students dogs wellbeing and to have them join us as we celebrate our new chapter is a true privelage!

So below are a few of them that will be in attendance to showcase to you the work that they do!

Open Day 2️⃣7️⃣th of August

I will be at this event offering free muscular health checks and advice.
As dog guardians, losing our beloved pet is our worst nightmare. We all hope never to be in this situation, but it is a comfort to know that organisations like Ayrshire Drone Dog Rescue - ADDR exist to help should the worst happen.
Come along, have fun with your dog, whilst supporting the charity.
Hope to see you there.

I keep forgetting to take photos of the dogs when they are in for massage. In Mylo's case it was keeping him still for long enough (typical spaniel;). I was pleased yesterday he settled a lot better for his second session and I was able to do a lot more work on the areas that are causing him to intermittently skip when out on walks. Still no massage photos as once he's settled I daren't move but here is one of his happy smiley face out on a walk x

Please welcome Catherine from Ayrshire Canine Clinical Massage who has joined as a Photizo Practitioner!

Catherine is a Clinical Canine Massage Therapist offering massage therapy as a safe, holistic and non invasive modality to treat dogs of all ages to help maintain their overall well being, with specific concentration on muscular and soft tissue health.

Clinical Massage Therapy is an effective treatment to assist in healing from injury (eg. muscle strains or ligament sprains) or surgery, as well as helping to reduce chronic pain which may have developed as a result of orthopaedic conditions such as arthritis. Catherine has trained in four traditional disciplines of massage (Swedish, sports, deep tissue and Myofascial release) as well as the clinically trialed Lenton Method which has proven to improve comfort levels in dogs in over 95% of cases within just one to three sessions. Ayrshire Canine Clinical Massage uses Photizo Vetcare in conjunction with hands on therapy to complement the effects of massage and to assist in areas of extreme discomfort where a dog may not be able to tolerate touch.

Welcome Catherine! 🐾

I've been really bad at taking photos recently but here is the lovely Buddy getting ready for his maintenance massage lying on his own special Steven Brown Art cushion! Buddy has had arthritic changes in his joints since he was only a year old. He has elbow dysplasia in both elbows, spondylosis of the spine which means some of his vertebrae have fused together restricting his flexibility, and has previously damaged both cruciate ligaments in his knees. After his first 3 sessions Buddy's owners had noticed a big improvement in his mobility and noticed he could do a high 5 for the first time in a long while. Improving the comfort levels and mobility of dogs like Buddy make being a canine massage therapist the best job in the world!! See you soon Mr B xx Have a great weekend everyone.

We just came down from the isle of Skye. We're no very big and one of us is shy!! My 2 wee island beauties who came to see me last weekend xx

Well it was lovely to see Ella again at the weekend for a maintenance massage after she moved away with her family last year. She even brought her baby sister sunny the sprocker puppy for a check over and mini massage as the wee soul has had some intermittent lameness recently. We managed to find where the issue is and with continued activity management and controlled exercise I am sure she will heal just fine. Ella can be a wee bit anxious so we start her sessions off with some freework to calm her down. Sunny on the other hand has no worries and the biggest challenge is keeping her still long enough! Hope you all got home safely and see you soon you 2 beautiful girls x

See you again tomorrow lovely girl xx

I had the pleasure of meeting the gorgeous Ruby last week for her first massage session. Ruby's vet had suggested she might benefit from clinical canine massage to help with her mobility issues in particularly in her hind limbs. She was a superstar and I'm looking forward to seeing her for her next visit very soon.
