Some horses show their relief really freely 💆‍♀️ which as a sports massage therapist is brilliant to see, while others just don't give in as easy.

It's not uncommon to never see a big licking, chewing and yawning release from your horse during treatment, as flight animals it's really not within their instinctual behaviour to completely relax and let go of their tension. Some horses actively fight the feeling.
So don't be put off if your horse doesn't show these behaviours, it's about more than this release reaction.
How do they feel after treatment ? Has their behaviour changed? Do they move more freely? Has their stride length increased? Have they stopped biting you when trying to tack up ?
There so many psychological, physiological and physical effects of Sports Massage that you can't see 👀

🌦️The winter months are hard on us and our horses!

Cold wet weather, being stood in their stables longer than usual and or being stood in the mud - the winter just doesn't benefit our horses.
