Uk is taking part European Grand prix

We are pleased to announce the 2023 European Grand Prix Series!

There are a few changes to the competition format this year. When the eGP started back in 2014 there were only 4 countries taking part, now participation has grown to ten countries! It is fantastic to see our sport thriving and the popularity of this competition, often dubbed the "Nations Cup", however these increased numbers place an increased burden on the generosity of our competition hosts.

Based on the 2022 competition results the countries have now been split into 2 groups: Tier A includes France, Poland, Turkey, Finland and Sweden, and Tier B includes Netherlands, UK, Germany, Switzerland and Italy.
At the end of the 2023 season the country ranked 1st in Tier B will move up to Tier A for the 2024 competition and the lowest ranked team in Tier A will drop down to Tier B in 2024. So now there really will be something for teams to fight for....

The eGP remains a team competition and at each stage 3 riders will contribute all their HBAE scores (Raid, Tower 90 and Hunt Track) to the team total. There are no opportunities for dropped scores - every single result within the team counts.

Each of the groups will participate in 2 stage competitions (competing only with others within their group, though it is possible for both tiers to be hosted at the same event).

Tier A stages:
1. Norrtälje, Sweden (11-13th August),
2. Gauchoux Open, France (24-26th August)

Tier B stages:
1. World Cup, Pomaz, Hungary (30th June - 2nd July)
2 Gauchoux open, France (24-26 August)

Team selection for places will be organised by the national association for each country. For more information contact your association or IHAA national rep.

Today the 100th person to become as an IHAA Level 1 judge received their qualification and certificate! 🤩

Congratulations to all of our judges - from 19 different countries! And thankyou for your commitment to best practice when judging horseback archery competitions and upholding the IHAA's rules and standards.

Anyone who wants to become an IHAA judge should speak to their national representative to learn about the process and be nominated to join the training course.

Hi all, As a heads up, from the 1st of April, all members taking part in BHAA Training sessions and competitions will need to have the correct standard helmet. I have attached the accepted standards below, telling you now so you have time to purchase a new one if necessary. This move is to bring the BHAA into line with other British equestrian governing bodies. If anyone needs help identifying their standard in their helmet, just ask 😊

Coaches will start checking helmets in February and March to make it easier when we get to April 😊 (if you borrow a helmet from the club you will need to check it and possibly invest in a helmet for yourself as new helmets won’t be being bought for the club yet.)
