This is Boo coming home from the vets after having to stay several nights as a puppy and this is her story…

When we got Boo as a puppy from a respectable dog breeder, Boo was checked by vets along with her other brothers and sisters, and the vets said she was small and quite subdued but seemed healthy and we could take her home.

Fast forward to a few days after we brought Boo home, and she began to struggle to eat and drink and was extremely lethargic. We were worried and took her to the vets who said we were going to have to hand feed her high calorie food every few hours and special sugary water to give her energy. So we set an alarm every few hours and every day and every night we would feed her by hand. She would eat and drink the special formulas but we didn’t see an improvement. She was still extremely lethargic, and all she wanted to do was to sleep on our chest and wouldn’t get up.

We rushed her to a 24 hour vets when our gut feeling was telling us something was wrong. They put Boo on an I.V. whilst they did blood tests… the blood results showed that Boo was extremely anaemic! She had very low percentage of blood in her tiny body. The vets warned us that they could do everything they can to do blood transfusions and keep her on an I.V. But she was very small and weak. We prepared ourselves for the worst.

Boo was our little miracle… after several days and nights at the vets, with blood transfusions and I.V., we were able to take her home, as a happy puppy. She would run around and play with her toys! She finally had the energy to be able to get up and be the fun energetic dog that she is today! 2 years later she continues to bring us such happiness and joy to our lives and we are so glad she made it through!
