🦷‼ Plaque VS Tartar - Main Differences!
The main difference between plaque and tartar is their stage and hardness.
🔍 Plaque is the early, soft stage of dental buildup that can be brushed away.
🔍 Tartar is the hardened, more advanced stage that usually requires professional cleaning to remove in its later stages.
Let me explain further.
🔍 Plaque is a sticky, bio film that forms on the dog's teeth. It's made up of food particles, saliva, and bacteria.
Imagine a dog munching on their favourite treat. Bits of that treat mix with saliva and bacteria in their mouth, creating plaque.
It's the first stage of dental issues and can easily form after each meal.
If you've ever felt a slimy coating on your dog's teeth, that's plaque.
🔍 If Plaque is left untreated it combines with minerals in the mouth and forms a thicker harder layer called Tartar, also referred to as calculus, which is a hard, yellow or brown, deposit / buildup on the dog’s teeth and gum line.
🔍 If Plaque or tartar are left untreated this can lead to gum health issues, onset of Periodontal disease, infections, abscesses, tooth loss and other dental health issues.
The emmi-pet ultrasonic toothbrush is perfect solution for the oral care and prevention for dogs.
The emmi-pet is an ultrasonic toothbrush, silent and does not vibrate and uses ultrasonic waves and specially formulated toothpaste that creates millions of nano bubbles that work 12mm beneath the dogs gum line to remove bacteria and enable plaque and tartar from forming.
