🤭🤭🥰🥰 FOSTER FAIL...OOPS!!! 🥰🥰🤭🤭

We've had a foster fail for our gorgeous girl Hazel, who was adopted by her fosterer a few weeks ago and we can clearly see why! 😻

As soon as Hazel went to her fosterer it was clear that she was very happy in her new home... (think she decided she was staying before her fosterer did 😹)!
They just make the perfect pair and we are so happy that Hazel got to stay, as you can see from her pictures she is very comfortable there ❤️

"Adopted Hazel a few weeks ago! My first foster fail. She is the sweetest girl so it was a very easy decision to make.
She loves dreamies (especially the catnip ones), string toys, my (her) heated blanket, and cuddling up in bed."

We are so happy for you both it was clearly meant to be, we hope you have the best of times together ❤️

💙🧡💙🧡 EVENT DAY 2!! 🧡💙🧡💙

It's the second day of our event and we are so excited to see so many more faces down here today! 🐾

What a fantastic day yesterday was!! Thank you so much to everybody who came down and made it such a special day, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did ❤️

We are ready for it all again today and as we said on yesterdays post please remember that we are here to answer any questions you might have so please don't be afraid to come and ask us anything and we will try our best to help! ❤️ and remember to eat lots of delicious cakes and treats as we have plenty! 🍰

We have some sad news about our special little Baby Boo…..

We thought he had passed this point but unfortunately today his face started to swell up which means there was still some bacteria in the tissue of his operation site.
It’s managed to find a pocket in his cheek and been building up.

He was rushed to the vets later this afternoon when we realised there was an issue. He’s now on 2 lots of antibiotics and pain killers for 10 days and will then need a further week to make sure the infection has definitely gone this time.

If you have applied to adopt Beanie Boo and Baby Boo unfortunately this will not be possible until we are certain he is better and this nasty infection has definitely gone.

Please keep our special little boy in your thoughts 💔 we are heartbroken for him 😞

⛔️⛔️⛔️ ANOTHER MUM AND KITTENS INTAKE ⛔️⛔️⛔️

The mum and kittens intakes don't seem to be slowing down anytime soon 😓😥 and we've had another mummy come to join us with her 3 little babies ❤️‍🩹

Just like Missy and her kittens, Sophia and her babies were also found living in a shed before they were brought to us 💔

They are now with one of our fosters, and her babies have been named Rocco,Rosa and Nico and they are just 8 weeks old ❤️

Hopefully they will be feeling much safer and cosier soon ❤️‍🩹

A wonderful update from Oscar (was Dodger) living his best life in his new home 💚

"Just an update on Oscar (was Dodger), who came to us on 13th October. He's settling in well, loves his food, head strokes, and has chosen his favourite chair to sleep on, ignoring the lovely cosy bed we got him!

He has really enjoyed starting to explore outside today, with regular checks ins that we are still here! Oscar is very good at "helping" me with work, too 😁"

‼️‼️❤️❤️ BEANIE AND BOO ARE ADOPTION READY ❤️❤️‼️‼️

We are so excited to announce that Beanie and Boo are finally ready for their adoption, and will be going up on the website at 8pm this evening! ❤️

This is very bittersweet for us at the centre as it will be a very hard goodbye, but we are so excited for their new adventures and to see them go to the home they deserve 🥺

We feel it's only right that this pair go to a very special person who knows their story and has followed what they have been through, so they know just how special these two really are ❤️ When applying on our website we would love for you to write a description about why you think this special pair are the purfect kitties for you 🐾

They will need to be kept as indoor kitties for the first 6 months as Boo can't have his surgery straight away, and it wouldn't be fair to only let one out as they are bonded. If you decided to keep them indoor after 6 months that would be your decision ❤️

It's a very small surgery and it will be covered by us to remove some tissue that will stop his male hormones, similar to a neutering but a little different as he has no actual testicles. We can give you any more information you may have on this when doing the adoption, but it's only a small procedure 😊

We can't wait to read your applications and find the best match for these babies, they really deserve the best after such a rough start and we will miss they incredible amounts ❤️🐾

❤️❤️‍🩹 OUR LONGEST FOSTERS OLLIE & PUSHKY ❤️‍🩹❤️

Have you met our longest foster kitties, Ollie and Pushky ❤️‍🩹

These boys arrived at YCR as sadly their owner had passed away, and they have been with us for 9 months now...!! 😢 This is the longest foster hold we have ever had and we just can't understand why no one has snapped up this beautiful pair❤️‍🩹

They are 11 years old and they absoulety love human attention, especially enjoying cozy lap naps on your knees ❤️😴

They love to play with each other and with their toys and Ollie loves a good sofa snooze afterwards to wind down 🐾 he also loves a good chin rub ❤️
They haven't met other kitties or doggies but they could be ok with the right introductions, they truly would make the purfect addition to any family! ❤️

⛔️⛔️💜🐾 MISSY AND KITTENS INTAKE 🐾💜⛔️⛔️

Another mummy and her babies has come to join us, after they were very sadly found living in a shed together ❤️‍🩹

They have now been moved to a much comfier home with one of our fosters where mum can raise her babies safely, and they are just the cutest little bunch ❤️

These babies were named in a very special way as the foster decided to do an amazing fundraiser where people could win the chance to have a kitten named after them, which they did with their work colleagues! Such a creative and amazing thing to do, so we would like to introduce mummy Missy, Hannah, Leigh, Ryan, Jude, Jay and Will ❤️

They do have a lot of flea dirt that we are currently trying to remove, but babies are all feeding fine so far and so is mum ❤️‍🩹

Welcome little family, we will update more on the progress as they progress ❤️

💛🏡💛🏡 PENNY UPDATE IN HER NEW HOME 🏡💛🏡💛

We have received a lovely update on Penny who was adopted from us back in August, all happily settled in her new home ☺️

"I thought I'd share how Penny is getting on since I adopted her. She settled in almost immediately and is doing so well!
She is the absolute sweetest and we get on perfectly, I think it would be impossible for me to find a lovelier cat and best friend!
She is eating well and has had no issues at all so far.

I have included some pictures of her, I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
Thank you so much for the beautiful work you do and for helping me and Penny find each other! 😊"

‼️‼️‼️❤️‍🩹 NEW INTAKE - BONDED PAIR ❤️‍🩹‼️‼️‼️

We have a lovely bonded pair who have come to join us, this is Theo (black and white) and Rocky (ginger + white) ❤️

These guys came to us as sadly their owner could longer look after them, so they will be looking for a new home together soon ❤️‍🩹 Theo is the slightly more confident one of the pair, he loves greeting everyone who comes to his pen and loves receiving head strokes ☺️

Rocky is the more reserved one of the pair and likes to watch the world go by from his fort, but we are sure that in time he will come out of his shell more ❤️‍🩹

They will be looking for a home where they are the only fur babies in your life, so keep your eyes peeled for when this gorgeous pair are ready ❤️

We have a new intake of these gorgeous little babies, please meet Wednesday (black fluffy) and Sunday (black white) ❤️

These little ones were handed in at the vets separately but as they are a similar age we have decided to put them together so they aren't alone ❤️‍🩹

They are sadly full of flea dirt as you can see from the picture, which we have been trying to remove best we can... hopefully we can get these babies in a better state soon 🥺

A little update of these babies in foster... and clearly they are feeling very comfortable 🥺

They are starting to grow into their own personalities which has been so lovely to see ❤️ Alice is the busy one who won't stay still when getting weighed 😹, Alfie is very much a lap cat who does enjoying playing but then needs a little snooze 😴, Ada is the smallest but definitely not shy and loves a tummy tickle ☺️ and Ace is still settling in but loves a snooze on top of his foster mum in the evening 🥰

They are doing so well after such a rough start at life, it is so nice to see them getting back on track and we have our fingers crossed that this progress will continue ❤️

💕💕🏡🏡 TESSA AND BARNEY REHOMED!!! 🏡🏡💕💕

An amazing update on Tessa and Barney who have gone to their furever home together! We were so excited for this update and we know a lot of you will be too, as we have all watched their story for the beginning and seen how much of a fight they have put up along the way ❤️

"I just wanted to give you all an update on Tessa and Barney's first day/night. They have been super confident! Exploring everywhere, playing with us and each other as well as eating, drinking and using the litter tray.

Their personalities are shining already, Tessa is absolutely crazy and loves running around the house (climbing up and down everything!) And Barney has been a bit more chilled and sits back and watches his sister running around!

We just wanted to thank you all and the foster parents for looking after them and keeping them safe!"

What an amazing turn out for this gorgeous pair, they deserve it so much and we are so happy to see them thriving ☺️ Thank you for the lovely update ❤️

❤️❤️‼️‼️ WE REALLY NEED KITTEN FOOD ‼️‼️❤️❤️

We really hate to have to ask but we are becoming very low on kitten food and we could really use the help to buy some more... ❤️‍🩹❤️

As you know we are struggling for funds at the moment so any help is really appreciated, we are particularly low on dry food but wet food would also be a huge help ❤️

If anyone is able to help us out that would be absolutely amazing, as with so many new kitten intakes there are just so many mouths to feed... ❤️‍🩹

⛔️⛔️❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹 ANOTHER NEW INTAKE ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹⛔️⛔️

Please meet our new intake beautiful Billy, an 8 year old boy who has come to our centre as his previous owner has sadly become too ill to look after him 😢😢

He is feeling a little bit shy at the moment and his favourite spot is hiding under his fort, but he did enjoy a few cuddles with one of our cat care assistants so he is slowly coming around ❤️

Hopefully it won't be long before he comes out of his shell and lets his personality shine 🥺❤️

Baby Boo's surgery confirmed

❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹 BOO BOO'S SURGERY CONFIRMED ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹 Uncle Spud doing what he does best and looking after the poorly kittens at Spud Towers, poor Boo Boo needed some comforting to help him feel better ❤️🐾 Poor Boo Boo is still really struggling with his eye and is still in a very touch and go situation. The socket is starting to get infected again and despite our constant efforts to clean it, it is just becoming too dangerous to hold off surgery any longer 💔❤️‍🩹 He's been with our CEO Lynn who's being fattening him up and getting him as ready as possible for the surgey, and we now have a date which will be this Thrsday at 08:30am so we would really appretiate everone keeping their fingers crossed or him ❤️‍🩹 He will be having what is known as an 'Eye Enucleation' which basically means they will have go deep into his eye socket to find and remove the tiny eyeball he has back there which is causing the infections. It is a very complex surgery especially on such a small kitten, but at this stage we are left with no choice as we can't leave poor Boo in pain any longer 💔 He's on medication and pain relief but it just isn't cutting it anymore ❤️‍🩹😔 Thank you so much to everbody who has donated towards his treatment we are so grateful to you all, and we also thank you for all the love, comments, shares and overall support we have received in this time as that helps us massively too ❤️ Another big thank you to everybody who also donated for Flutter, as even though we sadly lost her we still have all her vet bills to pay for. We are still waiting on Flutters invoice which will finalise how much it will cost, but with both her and Boo to pay for our monthly cost is going to be over and above our standard vet bills ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹 If anybody is still able to donate we would massivley appretiate it, and any money left over from Flutter will be going towards

⛔️⚠️⛔️⚠️ ANOTHER FLEA EMERGENCY ⚠️⛔️⚠️⛔️ Warning this is not a very pleasent watch but we feel it's important to share... We've had another urgent intake of a mum and her kittens who are absoulety overrun with fleas... 💔 These videos were taken AFTER staff had already tried to comb a lot of them out... so you can imagine what they looked liked when they first arrived 😔 As you can see in the video their gums are completely white and they are not very playful the way you would expect kittens to be at this age... which indicates another case of aneamia from too much blood loss 💔 After the devestating loss of Sonny and the recent update of River & Cove, it's heartbreaking to see more and more of these cases happening 😓 We again just wanted to bring awareness to how important flea treatments are and keeping on top of them... Priscilla Update

💗💗 Princess Priscilla Update 💗💗 Priscilla has been for her check up at the vets, who were very pleased as she has put on a lot of weight in the 8 days since she was hospitalised! She unfortuently has no immune system and no good bacteria inside her to fight off infection, so we need to be super careful with her and make sure she doesn't go in the wrong direction...❤️ She will be on gastro food and forti flora for the first 3 months of her life with a very very gradual move onto standard foods... ⛔️😩 ANOTHER EMERGENCY INTAKE 😩⛔️ Things are so out of control with stray and dumped mums and kittens, our CEO Lynn Nicholls is worried that us and other rescues like us may not make it through this year without having to close the doors because we physically can’t take any more cats in. She says “It’s not only the issue of space and running out of foster homes, the costs are astronomical for us to take on this many cats and kittens and it’s not even peak season.” These 4 x 3 week old kittens were found yesterday by a lovely couple. They waited to see if mum came back, she didn’t appear so they may have just been dumped as dead kittens have been found in this area before 😭. Either way they couldn’t be left any longer so one of our staff members went out to get them last night. We are so full we don’t even have a kitten pod for them to go in 😩 We adapt and overcome! A playpen at the centre in the office during the day and a member of staff will take them home on a night. They are both doing well and feeding, but these babies have a long way to go before they are safe. Our centre team are currently feeding them every 2 hours around the clock at work and then taking them home on an evening. She was steamed throughout the night to help her breath and has been taking her bottle much better since. We will continue to do this with her as it seems to be helping.
