🎉🎉Marvellous Monday News🎉🎉
Let's start the week with some congratulations! Ozzie came into ADIN's care almost 6 months ago, after being picked up as a stray, unclaimed after his 7 days. Being a typical, feisty Patterdale terrier, his ADIN journey hasn't been plain sailing, but he stole the hearts of fosterers Kerry and Shaun, who have decided to sign on the dotted line and make it a permanent arrangement!
Thank you to you both for your persistence and patience with this cheeky boy - he's a lucky lad to have landed on his paws with you!

From living in squalor, rarely seeing daylight and concern for her welfare - Carly has come a long way.

When we first secured Carly's safety the big wide world was quite overwhelming for her. But with patience and some behavioural assistance from Joanne, Carly's new family signed on the dotted line this week.

Wendy & Mark have worked hard to help Carly settle in and learn to enjoy life as a loved pet embarking on new adventures. She still has her moments of insecurity but seeks reassurance from Wendy and Mark as their bonds continue to grow.

This week we had the absolute pleasure of completing Derek's adoption!

Derek came to us last year. A young, unruly 9 month old whirlwind. He was manic on the lead, mouthy and rude. He spent several weeks in kennels as we waited for space with our behaviourist, Martin.

He tested Martin's patience to the limit with his destructive and wild behaviour, including chewing up a passport and some skirting board! Martin saw potential, that Derek had not had any basic input from an early age regarding acceptable behaviour but most crucially, he recognised there was no malice in him at all.

Fast forward a few months and Derek was ready for his new family. Derek has settled so well with Nigel & Demi. They adore him. They love his quirky personality.

We couldn't me more proud of how far Derek has come. Thank you to Martin for his hard work and patience, and to Nigel and Demi for giving Derek a place to call his own. ❤️

🐾❗️We're urgently seeking a foster home for Buddie❗️🐾

Buddie is a gorgeous 3 year boy who simply isn't coping with the busier location he's currently in; a very busy tourist hotspot full of lots of people and other dogs 🧡 We need a foster placement where he can be walked in quieter spots, either straight from the house, or taken in the car.

He really loves training and picks things up very quickly! We've been to see him today and played lots of pattern games with him 😊

✅Housetrained, travels quite well in the car, and doesn't mind being left whilst you nip out to the shops (but he is used to spending most of the day with his owner at home).
✅He's super loving!
🐾He loves to play football in the garden, but also enjoys his walks.
🐾Buddie isn't the most confident around other dogs when out. He can be a bit fearful possibly due to being attacked previously. Whilst we are helping him work on his confidence at the moment, we feel he'd do better as the only dog in the home.
🐾He is rather boisterous and full of energy, which can result in him jumping up a little - he is, however, learning not to do this!
🐾He has previously lived with cats, but not for some time now. He could possibly live with a cat again if you are open to doing slow introductions and are able to manage the space to ensure all interactions are under observation for the first few weeks.
👩‍👦We don't know if he has been around children much. As such we would only place with sensible older children (11+)

It’s time you met Aspen, a sweet 7-year-old Maltese who recently joined her loving foster family. This tiny bundle of fluff has already stolen hearts with her gentle spirit and adorable personality. 🐾

Unfortunately, Aspen’s story comes with a challenge. This brave girl needs extensive medical care, and we’re reaching out for your help to give her the healthy, happy future she deserves.

Before coming into ADIN’s care, Aspen hadn’t seen a vet since she was a puppy. Her initial health check with us revealed several serious issues:

🦷 Severe dental disease requiring a two-stage dental treatment.
❤️ Grade 1 heart murmur, needing an echocardiogram before she can safely undergo dental surgery.
🦴 Luxating patella (kneecap dislocation) in both knees. One knee urgently needs surgery, with the other potentially requiring intervention as well.

The estimated cost of Aspen’s care is £4,000, a truly significant expense for our charity.

We know this is a busy and costly time of year, with Christmas around the corner, but even the smallest donation could make a huge difference for Aspen. Whether it’s the price of a coffee or a thoughtful gesture in honour of a fellow dog lover this season, every contribution adds up.

🐾Sparky - Available to adopt🐾

Sparky is a super friendly 4yr old Border Collie looking for a new home through no fault of her own

👫 She absolutely loves all people. She greets everyone with huge enthusiasm and love and is a real joy to be around
🐕‍🦺 She has lots of doggy friends who she enjoys playing with, but is a little selective and can be snappy with certain dogs
🐈 She hasn’t lived with cats
🍗 Sparky LOVES her food. A little too much, she could do with a weight watchers membership to improve her waistline 🙊 She can guard her food.
🧒🏼She adores children but as she’s quite greedy and guards food she can only live with kids old enough to understand giving her space when she’s eating.
🚗 Travels well in the car
🏠 Always clean in the house and fine being left for reasonable periods

🐾Max - Available to adopt / foster with a view to adopt 🐾

Max is a 10 month old cross breed with the best ears ever! One up one down!!

🐾He is nervous and initially will shy away from strangers, however given time and patience and he will carefully approach especially for treats.

🏠He is housetrained and ok to be left for reasonable periods.

👧He has previously lived with children but due to his boisterous nature we would recommend older children or adults only.

🧡He is very affectionate and loyal.

🐱Never lived with other pets.

🚗Has only been in a car once but had no issues.

Buddie is a gorgeous 3 year boy, looking for his new loving home 🧡

✅Housetrained, travels quite well in the car, and doesn't mind being left whilst you nip out to the shops (but he is used to spending most of the day with his owner at home).

🐾Moses - Available to Adopt🐾

2½ yr old German Shepherd

Moses was spotted as a stray, in the middle of nowhere, having been dumped. Thankfully, Busters Animal SOS Team 🐾🐾 West Yorkshire were able to catch him. He was severely matted, scared and underweight.

Moses received a much needed groom to rid him of his mats. Thank you to The soggy doggy salon for squeezing him in ❤️.

✅Moses has settled into a multi dog and multi cat household with zero problems. He was impeccably behaved at the groomers.

🐾Moses had lived with children previously but we think he would be best in a home with older children.

🐾He's quite small for his age and breed standing at 23'' at the shoulder and weighing only 20.4 kgs.

🐾He loves his cuddles and has started to initiate play with other dogs and play with toys.

🐾He would need a home where he can build up his confidence and exercise.

On a decent diet he will be a stunning dog and a wonderful addition to a deserving family.

We are absolutely thrilled to start the week off with the news that Bluebell has officially been adopted!! 🥰

7 year old Bluebell came to us as a stray, so we knew very little about her at all. Kathy and Ashley opened their hearts and home to her in her hour of need, and fostered this sweet girlie. Whilst it hasn't always been plain sailing, they couldn't imagine life without her now, so they've signed on the dotted line and told Bluebell she's not going anywhere! ❤️🐾❤️

🐾 Really nice to have a visit today from Robyn at Aireworth Dogs in Need - Registered Charity No. 1162052, to discuss how we can support this wonderful dog fostering and adoption charity based in Keighley.

ADIN is run entirely by a dedicated group of volunteers, all of whom are looking to find the very best outcomes for local dogs seeking new homes.

🏠The rescue charity needs help in finding new foster and forever homes and all £ raised goes directly towards paying for vets, trainers and behaviourists.

❤️Tannie - Available❤️

🐾🐾Tannie will be available on a Long Term Foster basis - this means ADIN will cover the costs of his medical care (except routine flea, worm & vacs). 🐾🐾

Tannie is a gorgeous little 13 year old Lhasa Apso, looking for a quiet retirement home, as an only pet.

🐾Once he gets to know you he's up for a cuddle, but needs a more hands off approach to begin with, as he can be a little nervous of new people.
🐾Housetrained, travels well in the car, and doesn't mind being left whilst you nip out to the shops (but would love to spend the whole day with company at home).
🐾 He much prefers a potter around the garden over a walk, so a garden is a must for Tannie!
🐾Tannie has a heart condition and is on medication for this.
🐾He hasn't ever been around children, so needs an adult only home.

Please give a warm but quiet and gentle welcome to Bess in to the ADIN family. ❤️

Bess is a 9 year old GSD x Poodle. She has been an elderly gents close companion since she was a puppy but he is now hospitalised and won’t be coming home.
Poor Bess has had her world tipped upside down 😢

She is being cared for by her lovely fosterers who are giving her a lovely peaceful home while we learn more about her and her needs. We are so grateful 🙏

She is quite nervy and a little wary of new people.
She has been fortunate to live in a quiet rural environment, so is not used to a busy home or lots of new people. But she is a sweet natured girl who is gradually relaxing in foster.

This week we have been asked to help out with a large number of older dogs, some of whom are actually previous ADIN adoptees. We are always looking for fosterers and forever homes suitable for our more mature dogs.
