Now I have finished grooming everyone else’s furry friends I may have to do my own although she does prefer to be scruffy.

As we slowly start to return to some sort of normality, I have been able to reassess and groom most of the really hairies and those with medical conditions as welfare cases. All others who have been patiently waiting should now be booked in.
I am still going to reduce my hours to part time so although any of my existing clients are very welcome, I’m currently not taking on anyone new. Thank you all for your patience and understanding.

Further to an update in guidance from the British Groomers Association, ‘welfare’ has been more specifically defined as advised by a vet or in a matted state or other condition causing the animal discomfort or distress. This means I can only groom dogs that fit this criteria.
I will be contacting all clients who have appointments to assess their dog’s specific needs.
I am here for anyone who wants to contact me for advice.

As the situation worsens we are once again in lockdown. Fortunately animal welfare continues to be deemed essential so I am able to stay open. I am here for any of my existing clients who want to keep their appointments but fully understand any of you who would rather stay away.

As you have probably already seen, this area is to be placed under Tier 4 restrictions effective at midnight tonight.
I have checked through the rules on gov.uk and dog groomers are listed under businesses that are able to stay open to ensure pet welfare.
All my restrictions will stay in place to keep us all safe. I am open for any of my existing clients who wish to keep their appointments but I fully understand if any of you wish to cancel.

After careful consideration of the restrictions as detailed on the gov.uk website I am confident that I can stay open and clients can legitimately travel to bring their dogs to me for grooming to ensure their welfare. So I am here for any of my current clients. You are welcome if you want to keep your appointment but I quite understand anyone who wishes to cancel. Stay safe.

That was not what I was expecting! The return to work for non-essential business and unlimited time outside does show a lot of trust in us all. I hope it’s not misplaced.

As I know many of my client‘s dogs are suffering with overgrown coats in the heat, I will open. I have prepared for this just in case. I work on my own and so have control over my own environment. However as I have had to assess all risks, my rules have tightened further. I will not list them all here, just the most important one which has not changed:

I cannot take dogs from anyone who is shielding, self-isolating or if they or their close contacts are experiencing any symptoms of the Corona Virus.
If I, or my husband, are feeling ill or showing any symptoms I will close immediately and self-isolate.

Hope you and your dogs are keeping well. Not sure when I will be able to reopen as the lockdown will only be lifted gradually to safeguard us all.
I have not been idle though and have done my homewpork to learn all I can about COVID-19. Please be assured I will take every precaution I can to keep us all safe.

You don't see many of these, this is Bonnie, a scottie and a brindle one which is even rarer. Full of character and quite a bit of wickedness!! She can play at being coy and cute on the table too. I would adopt her in a second given half a chance.
