Fox predation can cost farmers in the UK between £10–12 million annually. This is due to the impact foxes have on livestock and poultry, including:
Chickens, geese, and turkeys: One study estimated that the annual cost of fox predation on these animals is £1.3 million.
Lambs: Other research estimates that foxes take 1–2% of newborn lambs.
Other livestock: Foxes are known to take young goats, piglets, and sometimes mature sheep, calves, and cows.
