We are almost into August. Just a reminder that ALL, even Saturday activities, MUST be booked. times and activities are not quite the same as the other 11 months. Please do not just turn up on a saturday because its your usual day as we may not be there or the time may have changed and we are just finishing. Thanks and enjoy your holidays.

Tomorrow looks to be as warm as today, so. When coming to yard bring plenty of drinks. Plenty of sunscreen, wear a top to cover shoulders. Shorts and trainers can be worn, but bring your boots and trousers to ride. 🌞🌞😎😎

Tidying and sorting. Can't remember who I've seen wearing this.

Saturday helpers want for the riding club. Need to be 13+, and confident around horses. In exchange for a lesson you will be helping novices, leading, tacking up, 11-5

11/05/2024

Yeah, first time of many (I hope) I need to remind everyone coming to yard today to remember sunscreen and plenty to drink. With a bit of a breeze the strength of the sun is very deceptive.

This is Saturday weather forecast. Please please make sure your child has coat and gloves. Even kast weekend young people turned up without and parents had to be called early as they were really cold and wet. Hyperthermia is very real and cam be very dangerous. We don't have to have minus temperatures fir it to occur.

Winter is all but with us, clocks change early hours of Sunday, back one hour, remember is coming to yard Sunday. Also please make sure a coat, warm and waterproof come with them, popping into car and then covered shopping centre without coat is fine. Spending hours in the open in wind and rain is not.

the weekend is looking as if it will be cold and wet. Please everyone, if you are coming to ride DRESS FOR THE WEATHER. i have had to cut short lessons because young riders are in tears from the cold, phone parents to collect early from riding club because the child is literally wet through, with chattering teeth and blue lips. All to often I hear, " i told him/her to wear a coat, bring glove, bring raincoat, wear more clothes, but wouldn't listen". All I can say is "who's in charge. Hyperthermia can and does set in in hours, and is potentially life threatening so remember Wrap up warm and bring waterproofs. Rant over and hope to see you all over the weekend. Even Sage wears a coat in bad weather

We seem to have a ROAD CLOSED sign put up at end Elmley Rd. Hope it means that are going to sort floods and road out, but in meantime the road is open, just drive slowly through water, it's not deep but there are even more potholes this week then last.

14/01/2023

It's a yeuky day out there. Rain not as heavy as you think because of the wind, but please remember gloves, and a spare pair, along with wet weather stuff.

10/01/2023

When coming to yard you will notice that Elmley Road is flooded by the overflowing drainage ditch. Please drive very slowly and carefully through this water, it's not deep but there are now quite a few pot holes hidden and caused by the the water.

Needless to say it's going to be cold this weekend. There has been quite a few people turning up without coats, gloves etc. Forecast is far to cold for that this weekend, and potentially cold is dangerous. So...Please more than one pair of gloves, Ice is wet, warm coat, scarf, and maybe if you don't have overtrouses then an old pair tracksuit bottoms over the top of legging, jods etc will help stay warm. I 'll make sure we have got water for soups, pot noodle, hot choc etc.

TOP TIP. Now we are going into muddy fields, wet weather, soggy rugs that don't dry try this. We all have, I have several, no fill rugs that either let in real rain, or have little nicks and slits that allow water through. If you put them OVER thicker turn outs it doesn't matter if they leak through as the other rug will keep water out, but they are so much easier to dunk into a bucket to remove mud, easier to dry and if not totally dry overnight can still be used on top. Especially usefull for ponies living out. Worked a treat on my two oldies who need to move around all the time cos of arthritis.
