Do all dogs need grooming?
In short, yes! We humans have bred dogs over the years to meet our needs and purposes. Some of this breeding has taken away the dogs ability to groom itself successfully.
Not all dogs need frequent trips to a professional groomer – if you have the time and inclination you can groom your own dog, short haired breeds are obviously easier to manage, though you may still want an occasional pamper session for your pooch or some advice from a qualified groomer.

Puppy’s first groom.
It’s important to get a young puppy used to grooming as soon as possible.
After their puppy jabs are complete you can bring them for a Meet n Treat (see above).
Puppy’s first groom will depend on the pup. Working holistically, at the dog’s own pace, they will be introduced to the bath, dryer, the grooming table, brushes, combs etc.. It’s a lot for a young pup, so they may not have a full groom, but will start to gain confidence and trust the groomer.

Meet n Treat – what’s that for?
While some dogs are confident in any situation, many are not and need some time and reassurance to adjust to new environments, people and activities.
A Meet n Treat is a short introduction for your dog to the groomer and the groom room. The owner stays and the dog is allowed to wander and sniff around the grooming environment, learning there’s nothing scary or threatening here – a few treats from the groomer usually helps!
