Why is it in the equestrian industry every person seems to have an opinion on horses feet specifically how they are shod! This happens to me periodically and really gets up my nose! Specifically other profession's (not including vets) I'm not sure how many years apprenticeship physios, saddle fitters and there mate Brenda have done in farriery but they all seem to think it's ok to comment on how a horse is shod! You don't see farriers commenting on physio work or saddle fit or even how Brenda has got the boots on upside-down 🙄 it doesn't happen in other industries YOU as an owner wouldn't expect to have a plumber come round your house and start telling you how they are not sure about your wiring! Or carpentry work! Because he/she isn't trained in it! But in the horse world it would seem every one knows better than the person who ACTUALLY trained in that field. If I've shod a horse in a certain way it's because I believe it's the best thing for that horse it's conformation, ailments, job it does, to maximise its performance, because I'm working towards improving its foot conformation ect ect not because I just rolled out of bed and thought ahh that will do! I put a lot of time effort skill and my actual physical body (I'm actually breaking my body over time) in to every horse I shoe and have spent years developing this and continue to do so.
BUT OBVIOUSLY I KNOW NOTHING 🙄

Just remembered to take some pictures before I dressed all the feet down 🙄 another new horse before and after! This horse will most likely go up another shoe size next time its shod to provide more caudal support, it's right fore (front in pictures) had a medial lateral imbalance that was quite significant. 👍

Few before and after of new horse, shod with a lot more caudal support and will probably go up another size in front next shoeing! Very little foot to work with hope to see a good improvement in the feet over next couple of shoeings 👍

A horse who's left hind outside heel is severely contracted on the outside causing him to roll/fall off the outside, fitted with lateral support to straighten his load bearing and help with limb flight. Oh and his other 3 feet 😉
