To all Broadwaters followers and keepers, past, present and future! I am very excited to make a double announcement for Broadwaters Rats.
First of all, please offer a very warm welcome to Rectory Cottage Rattery who are joining myself and Moon Baboon at Generation 8 and will be breeding Generation 9 Broadwaters Rats in June! 🙌 🐀

Secondly, I’m very pleased to share with you our new website which replaces the old style forum.
The website houses our registry and complete history of Broadwaters Rats including studbook and completely transparent breeding programme.
Also available on the website is the beginnings of a rescue network facility, shopping links and a facility to contribute to our long term health and longevity study.
You can also find a care guide section which is a work in progress, of course.

As breeders we are disappointed in the state of the UK rat population, welfare standards, breeding practices and treatment of keepers online. We believe that the best contribution that we can make together with our growing community, is to lead by example.
So we continue, with our beloved dumbo rats.

Please take the time to enjoy the new website and if you are able to contribute, by way of feedback and/or using the health reports, we would be most grateful for your input as always.

After a review of the new breeder co-operative, we are going through some change which sees the departure of Deansfield Rattery. I’d like to thank Chloe for her contribution to my project and wish Deansfield the very best of luck for the future of delivering some beautiful Russian Blue, Siamese and more!

We will be welcoming another local Rattery to join very soon to continue in our endeavours to show how sharing a breeding programme can benefit the species.

Based in Stafford breeding for rex and standard coated rats with mostly dumbo ears but will have top ear too. Breeding for agouti, Russian blue, siamese and black coated rats. Also breed micro squirrels. Waiting List is currently: OPEN

Availability and Reservation Update!
There are currently a few males available on BAND.

The Generation 8 babies are on their way here at Broadwaters from Nacho x Pepsi and Candy. The Moon Baboon litter has JUST arrived 😍 and you’ve missed the Deansfield litter! They’ve gone off to new homes.

If you are an existing Broadwaters Rat owner and looking to add to your mischief, you have priority choice of litters before they are available on BAND. Please make sure your name is down if you think you might be interested in Gen8 litters and you are an existing keeper.

Newcomers are very welcome as always 🙏
