With the cold weather already here, this is a reminder to all clients that although we will walk in all weather conditions - your dog's welfare needs and safety will come first and we have a right to refuse to walk your dog if we believe it is too cold, or we think your dog is at risk. Pet sits and pop-ins will be offered as an alternative to those who need our services. Stay safe all ❄️🩵

When considering walking your dog in cold weather, there’s a pretty simple rule to live by – if it’s too cold for you, it’s too cold for your dog.

But like humans, every dog is different. Where some dogs seem to be made for snow and wet weather, others can struggle in even the slightest of chills. The vet experts at Joii have given some guidelines to help you decide if you should brave the elements or stay in the warmth.

Just looking at the temperature on the thermometer (or if you’re like us, on your phone’s weather app) isn’t enough, you also need to take into account wind chill, wet conditions (rain or damp ground) and how sunny the day is. If in doubt, keep your walk short or skip it all together if your dog can toilet in the garden instead.

This is your reminder to stop for a moment and slow down to enjoy your surroundings. Often, as dog walkers we are constantly on our feet doing our utmost best to meet time slots and ensure that we provide the best service so that your pooches are happy! We don't have time to eat or have a lunch break most days. We are often living the fast pace life and forget to breathe.

I am however, prepared to take care of myself this winter, with my wonderful trespass flask which I can fill with hot drinks to keep me fueled. It doesn't leak either, woohoo!

Bailey and Teddy got to enjoy a drink of fresh water whilst I rested. Aren't they cu-teas!? 😂☕️

Auntie Merry may be quieter this week, and perhaps for as long as it takes to grieve. I lost one of my own pets on Monday, and I'm not ready to post her, or talk about my beautiful girl yet. Thank you for your continued understanding and support. I will respond to enquiries and messages as soon as possible 🐇💔🌈

Massive thank you to Auntie Emily for stepping in to walk or sit our clients whenever she is able to 🐾🩵

🌈In Memory of Diggle🌈

May 2016 - Nov 2025

Even adhoc clients have a special place in our hearts and it is never easy to hear that they are passing on. This wonderful golden oldie got me through some tough walks and rough days, and always had me dropping him home with a smile. I have been fortunate to build a bond with this handsome boy since 2023. Thank you for the laughter, and unconditional love.

He would shake and soak me after a swim in the river and have zoomies directly afterwards. He would honour me with his tippy tappy excited paws on arrival, and excited sneezes and wiggles whenever I picked him up from his house. He would cover me in more hair within 5 minutes of saying hello, than our regular dogs would in an entire work day 😂

I will miss you, sweet, darling Diggle. Say hello to my other nieces, nephews and past fur family members up there. Until we meet again. 😇💔🧡

Some of our woofers from this week, so far!

Ripley had some muddy endeavors around Habberley Valley, on and off-lead. Doesn't she look gorgeous amongst the autumnal colours!? 🍂

We welcomed back Rowan after a few weeks apart, with some off-lead, ball throwing fun and a bit of swimming in the pond (followed by a coffee for myself from coffee loco). ☕️🥎

Ellie got to enjoy her weekly in home pop-in from her Auntie Merry, she showed me her new toys and barked in anticipation! I have missed those eyes! 🤎🩵

Rusty has come a long way with his training and will now walk better on the collar when he sees other dogs, and gets to enjoy time on his long line. His recall has gotten quite good! 🥰

Max has had the pleasure of weekly pop ins from both Auntie Merry and Auntie Emily, and keeps us thoroughly entertained digging in the garden and finding something to play with (he ran off with my shoe last week)! 🕳

We know it is only Tuesday, but we are very grateful for how busy the business is. Thank you everyone 🐾

Although most dogs thrive on routine, sometimes it's fun to explore new places and keep things exciting. New smells and adventure are great mental stimulation for dogs, and also mentally stimulating for us as dog walkers to change it up a little!

Lovely Oakley was incredibly eager to check out a local nature reserve 🐾🥰🩵
