Kiddy Minors travelled up to Warrington today for the BFA Flyball show hosted by Finesse. The journey up was difficult with Storm Bert doing his stuff. However we all made it safely to take our place in division 2. The team consisted of Brianna, Lucy, Molly, Saffi and Skye who all ran well considering we had not run indoors since February, in fact this was Saffi’s first indoor experience.

Starting as 5th seeds we raced some very good teams and finished a very creditable 4th at the conclusion of racing. Thanks to Daniel who put in a faultless performance as box loader and also thanks to our friends at Live Wires who helped us in the ring.

That’s our final competition for this year. See you all in the lanes in 2025.

Due to the recent snow and the expected temperatures at the training venue this evening to not go above zero we think it’s best if we cancel training for this evening. This is to ensure those in the second session don’t have to drive in potentially treacherous conditions through the lanes from the venue.

I know those running on Sunday will be disappointed not to get a few more training miles but it’s for the best. See you on Sunday.

Stay safe everyone and keep you and your dogs nice and warm.

Heads up to those going to the Flyball show in Warrington on Sunday. They will be doing the Crufts qualifier between the morning and afternoon sessions which we can watch. However C4 will be recording the qualifier so if you’re uncomfortable with that you will have to miss that part of the action. If that’s a problem drop Stuart a note or call him.
See you on Sunday.

It was a very wet day at the Cheshire Flyball show today for Kiddy Minors and Munchkins. The wet conditions got the better of a very hardy bunch as the show was abandoned at lunchtime with no sign of a let up from the rain.
Kiddy Minors (Molly, Lucy, Brianna, Kapes, Saffi & Ollie) won two of our three matches to finish 3rd. Whilst Kiddy Munchkins (Bodie, Roman, Maddi, Shuri & Venom) has 23 clears from 24 legs to finish 2nd.
Thanks to AJ and Daniel for box loading duties and Ken, Tony, Nick and Poppy who supported us.
Special mention to three of our foundation dogs who all ran beautifully today, Bodie in his 2nd competition, Venom and Shuri in their first competition all put in faultless performances and gained valuable racing experience.

On this day in 2020 we returned to Flyball training at the club post the first lockdown. Covid procedures meant the boxes were placed the far end of the arena, only Karen and Stuart setup and moved equipment, each ball only used once and handlers and box loaders were assigned one lane to use each session, standing outside when not running a dog. Plus loads of hand sanitizer.

But we did well to get the club back up and running, with everyone who carried on paying subs during lockdown making a significant contribution to the club’s sustainability and future.

Not our best day for Kiddy Monsters today at Darley Moor. The two open teams struggled all day with just a couple of positives being Bracken did well in his first outing in the Monsters team, and Mabel ran well in only her 2nd open show for Minsters. Also Brianna impressed the judge so much he put her on report 😉.

Thankfully the foundation team did much better with all four dogs running very well to get 46 clears from 48 legs. This gave them a well deserved 2nd place in the division. Special mention to Kerry with Bodie who did very well in a first outing for Kiddy and looks a great prospect for future open teams.

In the post show presentations Jess picked up Bracken’s Flyball Dog award and Daniel and AJ collected BFA junior awards. Well done to all three.

Next stop is the Outdor Championships in August. Best of luck to all involved..
