🕚 Our adjusted opening hours 🕐

Not too much of a change, just a slightly later start on a Tuesday morning going forwards to allow us to catch up on any outstanding enquiries at the weekend so as we can regain a better work life balance and not have to worry about these things during “down time”

We still offer early morning appointments at either 8:00am or 8:30am on a Thursday and Friday but only on request. As a general rule of thumb we’ll open at 9:00am unless we have a booking

Please note that as a small business, our hours may vary a little as and when needs must. During the winter months especially, we try to take out lunch break outside so as we can catch a little glimpse of the sun since it’s dark when we arrive and dark when we leave

Heidi is a graduate of our Puppy Package, having been with us since a very young pup means she has absolutely no issues being groomed. Most of the time she’s ready for a slumber before we’ve managed to finish!

We’ve seen such a fantastic change in Winnie’s behaviour in such a short period since she’s been with us. She used to come in with her tail between her legs, now she’s bolts through the door and throws herself up the gates to get in! We’ve still got a few table manners to learn before she can get that perfect trim, but the most important thing for us right now is that she leaves with a waggy tail 🐕

Hiya All!

Jessica has successfully navigated her first full time month back at work, so we’re going to push ahead with her studies and try and get things back to normal sooner rather than later.

Apologies again for the delays in any responses and lack of availability over the past few months but as always we appreciate your patience and understanding.

Anyway, we’re launching our new look social media today to start us off in the right direction. We’d really appreciate any kind reviews on our page or Google business page, just to really kickstart us again if you can spare a few minutes 🙏

We’re now starting slightly later on a Tuesday morning, to allow messages from over the weekend to get a prompt response as I (Casey) am trying to realign my work life balance after a hectic few months. Any early morning appointments already booked in will be honoured.

We’re also getting quite booked into December, so please get in touch if you want your Christmas grooms booking in, we’d hate to disappoint anyone. We’re very short on weekend and evening appointments between now and then.

Additionally we wont be taking on new grooming clients in December, so if you’re thinking of switching then please allow time for a groom in between. We will still be taking new on bath and tidy, and short coat deshed clients but just won’t have the time to allocate to new grooming clients unfortunately.

We have now had to close our doors to any more dogs :( We have been struggling for months to find kennel spaces for dogs to come in but at least we have had dogs being rehomed so we have managed to help some doggies although very slowly. However we are now full with so many of our dogs getting little interest or none at all or an odd application that just hasn't been suitable. We have had some dogs returned and have 30 plus dogs on our waiting list to come in so we are now stuck :( Some dogs have been here for what seems like an eternity and it is just heartbreaking to see them day in and day out.
So please keep sharing our pups, it just needs that 1 application to change their lives and give them a chance 🤩

For the first time today, I’ve had to administer CPR to a dog whilst at work. I feel blessed to say I’ve checked in with the owner this evening and the dog is happily running around as if nothing had happened. Today could have gone very differently had I missed subtle early signs, hesitated or not known what to do. I take safety very seriously, and have undertaken two separate canine first aid courses in the last 4 years, but this is a personal choice and not a requirement for the job.

Please let me emphasise the importance of making sure that your pet professional has completed some form of first aid training. Any professional working with the vulnerable, children, elderly, disabled, etc. is expected to undergo compulsory first aid training. Why should you not expect this from pet professionals too.

The regulations around the pet industry are not very strict, and anyone can set up a grooming business without any formal training. I’m not here to get into a debate of qualified vs not, as I’m sure there are a lot of brilliant unqualified groomers, and lots of not so great qualified groomers. But please, when choosing not only a groomer but any pet professional, that you make sure you check that they have first aid training. It can be quite literally a matter of life or death.

Everyone, meet Boo! The stars at Forest Dog Rescue asked if I could help this gorgeous boy out of a bit of a pickle. After coming into them as a stray, and having no identification or owner come forward - it's time to start looking for a permanent home for Boo. In the mean time, we got rid of that uncomfortable matting and tidied him up. Doesn't he look like a little teddy bear! We were smitten with him in the salon, he was just an absolute joy to work with a d so sweet. This little man is full of quirks and has never been to the groomers before, we we quickly realised what was triggering him and we had a successful grooming session from then on! Today we had the absolute pleasure of meeting Salsa who's currently at Forest Dog Rescue awaiting a new home. Poor Salsa came in from the streets as a stray, so was in a bad way with severely matted feet, overgrown coat and yucky ears. You can literally see Salsa become more at ease and happier as the video progresses, and I've absolutely no doubt she'll do the same with her new family. Her groom today was about making her more comfortable, and more suited to a kennel environment - one we hope she won't be in for much longer. We were all absolutely besotted with her in the salon, and just know she'll make a wonderful companion to someone special! We dropped some goodie bags in for the winners of the classes at the Charity Dog Show tomorrow at Blue Cross Bromsgrove rehoming centre Blue Cross Bromsgrove rehoming centre to raise some money for Blue Cross . Hopefully the weather holds up enough for it to be a fantastic day and raise lots of money for the animals in need. We'll be dropping in hopefully in the afternoon to show some more support!
