Kitten update ♥️ 🐱
Their eyes are opening! Some of our kittens eyes are starting to open. This is a slow process that starts at the inner corner of the eye. Once fully open they will mainly only be able to see shadows. In the mean time, their ears are also opening, so they will be able to hear us soon too!

Our pets are part of the family and we want to share fun experiences with them – including taking them on holiday!
While this often results in great fun and wonderful memories, there are a few things to consider first. A bit of planning beforehand goes a long way towards making it a positive experience for everyone.

Heat stress starts as a reversible condition, but if not managed it will develop to heat stroke, which is extremely dangerous.
If your pet shows any of these signs, they should be moved to a cool area and offered plenty of water to drink.

Deafness can be a very isolating disability, so a hearing dog offers constant companionship and emotional support, giving deaf people the confidence to reconnect with their family, friends and community around them. This combination of practical assistance and lifelong friendship can be completely life changing.

Unlike us, pets have no understanding that hot weather can be
harmful. We control their environment, their access to water
and their exercise, and they can’t speak up if they start feeling
unwell. Heat stroke can rapidly progress and, even with
veterinary treatment, is often fatal.

Deafness is rising in the UK; by 2035, it is estimated that one in five British people (over 15 million) will experience hearing loss. Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is a national charity that trains dogs to alert deaf people to important and life-saving sounds like the smoke alarm, alarm clock and even a baby’s cry. Their burgundy coats also act as a visual reminder to the public when they are out and about that their partner is deaf. Donations raised through Pennies when you pay by card help support Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. Just a small donation can make a big difference!

Feeding your bunnies some scrumptious healthy treats isn’t the only secret to winning their heart! Here’s what you can do to show your buns some love!

💗 Let them make the first move - Give your bunnies the freedom to hop over when they're ready
💗 Sharing snacks by hand - Offer a tasty treat and watch the magic happen

Both indoor and outdoor rabbits require vaccinations to keep
them safe from infectious disease. Young rabbits are particularly
vulnerable to serious illnesses, so it’s important to get them
vaccinated early.
Rabbits can be vaccinated from five weeks old and will need
yearly booster vaccinations throughout their life to maintain
immunity.

The very handsome Carrots has come in today to be castrated. Not many people realise but neutering (Castration for males and Spay for females) is generally recommended for a couple of reasons. Firstly it prevents hormone related aggression. Both males and females can get aggressive as they mature to both their human friends and their furry friends. Mated pairs, one male one female, generally have the lowest levels of aggression.
Neutering also prevents unwanted pregnancies and reduces certain health risks.
To find out more about neutering your rabbit, book your rabbit in for a free nurse health check or give our team a call on 01299 271967
