99.999% of malinois in rescue are working line malinois ( in eight years we have only ever had two showline malinois through our doors)

Most potential owners of malinois don't even realise there are two very distinct types of malinois.... working line malinois and showline malinois

Most working line malinois do not do well in pet dog homes ( the reason there are so many working line malinois in rescue)

Most of the malinois in rescue tend to be poorly bred working line malinois with issues including reactivity aggressive nervousness poor temperament etc.

This is ( usually) because inexperienced unknowledgeable pet dog " breeders" have produced malinois from unknown unproven unstable working lines and sold them as pets to equally inexperienced unknowledgeable pet dog homes

The malinois is an amazing dog in the right home

That home needs to be committed to raising their pup correctly lots of socialisation environmental exposure and if course that magical thing called TRAINING

Can a working line malinois live happily ( and more importantly safely ) in a pet dog home....yes of course they can if the owner is prepared to put time effort and money into training their dog and meeting it's needs

Malinois NEED physical and mental exercise and stimulation if an owner doesn't provide this the dog will " entertain" it's self and in won't be in ways the owner will be happy with

We love the malinois breed

We try to do our absolute best and help as many of these dogs as possible but we have to be sensible and realistic

We have limited funds limited time and limited spaces we cannot take dogs with bite histories or other significant issues

Please choose your new best friend wisely

If you intend to buy from a breeder please check that breeder out very carefully.

Are their dogs worthy of breeding from what achievements do the dogs have are they all health tested hips elbows eyes at a minimum

Does the breeder carry out checks carefully match their pups to a new owners circumstances provide a contract life time support etc

IF NOT WALK AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN

Malinois offered cheaply or free on pet dog selling sites are cheap or free for good reasons

If you want to offer a home to a rescue malinois ( please do if it's possible we know not every potential owner is able to offer a rescue dog a home ) please re-home from a rescue that has knowledge of and experience with the malinois breed and will carefully match you to the right dog provide life time support etc

We see a lot of malinois being returned to pet dog rescues because the rescue just doesn't understand the breed and it's needs

Please choose your new best friend wisely

Can a malinois be a suitable pet ....yes absolutely if it's the right dog in the right home

Here at New Dawn we support reputable responsible breeders and welcome their support and wealth of knowledge and experience with the malinois breed

Marianne Brett ( Goldmali) is one of the most respected showline malinois breeders here in the UK ( though sadly now retired) and arguably one of the most experienced and knowledgeable

Marianne dogs have some incredible achievements

Bambi was Crufts Best of Breed 2022 and now is the first malinois in the UK to gain her latest achievement

Remember Whiskey

It's taken a little while and there has been a few issues along the way but we are delighted to be able to say HAPPY GOTCHA DAY to Whiskey and his family

We are passing details of any rescue who may be able to help to the social worker

We will not share the social worker details with any one pm us

We are closed but still trying to help hence the post

We are not willing or able to contact lots of rescues personally for the reason above ie we are officially CLOSED

We have cointacted a few rescues we work with

We ask supporters rescues etc to share the post

There are offers of fosters in comments if any rescue is able to help

We are willing to pledge a £100 donation to any rescue willing to help perhaps our supporters could offer small donations too

🚨 ANOTHER HEARTBREAKING AND URGENT SITUATION 🚨

‼️ Looking for a RESCUE willing to take responsibility for this dog we don't have the funds or space we are also CLOSED currently ‼️

This is a sensitive situation so a lot of information cannot be shared publicly

We have been contacted by the social worker of a very unwell person who has a dog that desperately needs moving asap

The social worker has contacted the RSPCA and other rescues none can help

The dog in question is a friendly happy 2yr old Mali x gsd female who is currently very underfed ( only fed when owner has food vouchers) kept in a small crate 22 hrs a day lives in a flat and hasn't got any access to the outside world no walks etc

The poor dog has been used as a bait dog and was bred from at six months old

The dog is not vaccinated microchipped or neutered

Despite all the above the dog is described as a sweet girl

If any rescue can help please pm us and we can put you in touch with the social worker share photos etc

I know realistically we will not be able to help this poor girl but we have to at least try

Here is the judgement of the court in relation to our ex foster Samantha Hayes claim she owned our dog and when the police removed him after we had logged him as stolen information we provided in relation to the dogs ownership was false

The judge ruled that Julie Nevett was the legal owner of the dog from the date he was signed over to New Dawn( 23/3/2025)

The judge ruled no contract in relation to transfer of ownership had been entered into between Julie Nevett and Samantha Hayes

The judge also ruled that ex admin Beverly Ann Morris did not have ostensible authority to make decisions on behalf of Julie Nevett

Our counter claim in relation to costs incurred was dismissed too

Nothing to hide here

No acts of spite

No malicious activities

No acts of revenge

Just as always acting in the best interests of the dog and our duty to keep our fosters and the general public safe

A shame the same can't be said for Beverly Ann Morris Samantha Hayes and the rest of the gang

We would just like to remind Ms Morris that information discussions etc in a PRIVATE management chat group are also CONFIDENTIAL and should not be shared with her new friends or publicly on Social Media

We also request Ms Morris destroy any remaining CONFIDENTIAL information personal details discussions etc she still has in her possession

If Ms Morris has any genuine concerns about New Dawn or the way we operate ( bearing in mind Ms Morris was our foster and adoption coordinator for nearly five years and never once raised any concerns in relation to the way New Dawn operates) we suggest such concerns etc are logged with the relevant agencies and authorities so they may officially investigate

If anyone becomes aware of any such information being shared publicly we would be grateful if you could notify us
