With all this doom and gloom at the moment here is “Henry” the donkey saying “good morning” 🤗🤗 Henry belongs to our lovely assistant Donna .
Well at least someone is enjoying the very wet and miserable few days we’re having..
This is Bella the Bernese Mountain Dog making the most of the rain, she’s definitely put a smile on our faces 🤭🐾
In the video below we demonstrate how to administer a tablet to a ‘difficult’ cat. 🐱 🎞🎥
Thank you to Jeffrey (an 11month old cat who lives with our receptionist Rosie) and his assistant Olivia (one of our vets).
You may find that the following helps you:
- a towel 🧣
To protect yourselves from claws
- a ‘pill-popper’ 💊
To protect your fingers from being bitten, (available to purchase from reception)
- a syringe of water🚰💧
To wash the medication down - some tablets can cause damage if they get stuck in the oesophagus.
If you are struggling with medicating your pet (including wormers) please give our reception team a call. Our friendly nurses will be able to help, or your vet will be happy to administer them/demonstrate at the time of your consult. 🐾👩🏼⚕️👨🏻⚕️
As promised..
“Flora’s Day at The Vets” 🐾💚
Thank you for watching 🐈
Please feel free to ask any questions you might have (even if you feel theymight be silly, as chances are they’re not!) 🤗
Pixie’s day at the vets ☺️🐾
**WARNING** the following video contains some images of surgery.
Pixie is a rescue pup who belongs to one of our vets Jo. She’s a terrier mix and is approximately 6months old.
Yesterday Pixie came in to spend the day with us for surgery to be spayed (neutered). The video below shows some of her day with us and starts after she’s had her pre-op examination by a vet and an intravenous catheter placed into the vein in her leg. 👩🏼⚕️🐾
Feel free to ask any questions and we will do our best to answer them below. We’ll let you know how she’s recovering in a few days at her post-op check 😊
*Meet 'Terence' the tick* (click for sound)
This little chap was an uninvited stow-away on a dog and removed by one of our vets in the clinic.
Ticks are often picked up in gardens or on walks. They attach themselves to your pets, piercing their skin and swelling in size as they suck their blood. They can transmit nasty infectious diseases such as babesiosis and Lyme disease to pets and humans.
Please remember to protect your pets from ticks this season, call us if you'd like some advice. There are a variety of tick prevention products available that we can advise you on.
Please check your pets regularly and if you find a tick on your pet you can visit the clinic where one of our team will help to remove it safely for you 🐞🐌🐛🐝🐜😊
