We are looking for a foster with a view to adopt home for the lovely Henry.
Henry came into us about a month ago after being found on the back of a Dominoes lorry.
He was extremely skinny and had numerous wounds which we believe may have been burns.
He’s not coping to well in rescue and we believe would do better in a home environment.
He needs TLC and building up as he still has a way to go weight wise.
He is neutered, but will need to start his vaccines and be microchipped (covered by ourselves)
Ideally he needs to be an only cat as he’s not to impressed with the resident cats here.

If you would like to offer him a place or for any further information, Please get in touch.

Anti-freeze poisoning awareness
We've seen our first case of suspected anti freeze poisoning this morning and will likely see a trickle more over the course of the winter.

Antifreeze poisoning is typically fatal unless it is treated very early (within the hour). Cats(and less typically dogs) are attracted to the sweet taste of ethylene glycol and within hours of ingestion will present drunken and twitchy, progressing rapidly to seizures and kidney damage. Very small volumes (eg from minor driveway spills, or leaky engines) are toxic.

Some antifreeze products are spiked with a bitter tasting agent (bittrex) which discourages consumption but sadly, this is not a standard requirement.

If you suspect your cat is showing any conpatible signs, please contact us woth the utmost urgency.

After being missing for 11 years, Humbug the cat has been reunited with his grateful owner Kitty thanks to the team at Bedford Vets4Pets.

He disappeared in April 2012 and despite Kitty searching for him for more than a year, putting up posters and even offering a reward, was never found ... until he was brought into Vets for Pets to be checked after following someone for a couple of days. The team tracked Kitty down as her mobile number was on information found on Humbug's microchip. Kitty, who now lives in Basingstoke, said: "When I got the call I just couldn't believe it. I was totally shocked. It was my 35th birthday so finding out I'd got my Humbug back was the best present ever. No one knows where he's been all that time. He's way too friendly to have been living rough. He's lapping up all the attention at the moment." Nurse Hannah from the practice said: "We're so happy that we could have been a part of this story – all thanks to his microchip!"

Yesterday brought two more requests for help with kittens, it’s been the busiest year for kittens for a long time. The only way we can reduce the population is by neutering.

Cats Protection run this AMAZING scheme for just £10! Be responsible and neuter your cat!
