UPDATE: Please no further donations. Thank you to all of you who did. 💔

Sadly we have been unable to save her. We tried absolutely everything but ethically we had to make the call to help her pass gently over the rainbow bridge. Chris is there cradling her now, as she makes her final journey on this earth. 🌈 We are absolutely bereft. Beyond heartbroken. 💔💔💔

🚨 EMERGENCY 🚨

Jem’s husband Chris currently racing to The Willows. 🚙 🏥

Our darling girl is currently being cared for in a local veterinary practice, in readiness for ear surgery in a few weeks time. Sadly overnight she’s suffered a catastrophic saddle thrombus, this is a life and death emergency and the veterinary practice she’s currently in don’t offer overnight care.

We had two options this morning:

1. To help her cross the rainbow.

2. To race to an emergency 24 hour vets and give her a fighting chance. Prognosis is poor however she ate breakfast this morning, despite having no use in her back legs and we just felt we couldn’t give up.

In a bizzare twist of fate, Chris was already at the vets with Thomas who was having his stitches taken out whilst Jem managed the branch cattery. Time was of the essence, so she was made comfortable and is currently 30 minutes away in the car. Nurses are in standby to take her as soon as she arrives.

Please hold our little sweetheart in your hearts. As you all know we are a very small, self funding charity, wholly separate to the national RSPCA, without donations we cannot continue the work we do, we cannot save these lives.

We never shy away from the really poorly cats who need a fighting chance as we’ve more than evidenced in recent years with some huge, huge vets bills. (4 cats alone who’s bills totalled nearly £40,000 - but you can’t simply put a price on life).

If you can spare anything today please donate via the link on this post. As we know any admission to a refferal centre at the weekend is huge and she will also need a heart scan to determine what issues were dealing by with, if we can first get her stable.

Please help us. 🙏🙏🙏

Other ways to help are below:

1. Please share the post so more people can see it.

2. PayPal: [email protected] (FRIENDS AND FAMILY please)

3. Message us for our bank details for a direct transfer.

Anything at all will be so grateful received, whilst the money isn’t in the fore of our minds, for every huge bill, of which we have so many, it is rapidly depleting our funds.

Whilst we try to fundraise all the time, there will come a point where we simply cannot do what we do. We are trying to mitigate for that by asking for help when we really really need it. Moments like right now.

Thank you. 🙏💕😿💔

🧡💔 He’s Gone 💔🧡

We are sorry to write that sadly our gorgeous boy, Boris (as named by the staff at Blacks Vets) crossed the rainbow bridge bedside one of our volunteers and a handful of vets and vet nurses who have fought tirelessly, with our support, to save him. 💔

His body was just too tired and too ravaged by illness to be survivable. He started to struggle this afternoon and the vets called and said the decision had to be made to let him pass peacefully, regardless of the blood test results we were waiting on, we were just TOO LATE!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had a room ready for him, with his own sofa and television and such lovely food for him to feast on. We wanted him to know what life should have been like all these years…

Instead, he spend his remaining days feeling poorly, lying in a veterinary hospitalisation pen, surrounded by noise and smells that are totally unfamiliar. All this boy will remember is years of misery, suffering and pain. He didn’t get this poorly overnight, this is years and years of neglect. Bystanders watching by and doing absolutely nothing. SHAME ON YOU ALL.

He was not feral, at some stage he had been within a home. At some stage, like always, he had been let down by despicable humans!

To whoever didn’t neuter him, look into his eyes, YOU FAILED HIM.

To whoever didn’t bother to microchip him, look into his eyes, YOU FAILED HIM.

To whoever didn’t vaccinate him, causing him to contract FeLV (feline leukaemia) look into his eyes, YOU FAILED HIM.

To whoever left him to roam, look into his eyes, YOU FAILED HIM.

To those who only fed him and didn’t get him veterinary care, look into his eyes, YOU FAILED HIM.

To those who walked on by when he looked so poorly, thinking it wasn’t your place, look into his eyes, YOU FAILED HIM.

To every person who had seen this poor boy and didn’t get him help, look into his eyes, YOU FAILED HIM.

We are devastated and heartbroken. We are angry. We are fed up of continually repeating ourselves like broke records when we encounter situations like this EVERY. SINGLE. WEEK.

• Billy • Benji • Arthur • Bear • Sweepy • Smudge • Oliver • Kevin • Gio • Fergus • Charlie • Rupert • Carter • Trigger • Flynn • Charles • Otis • Percy • Peter • Sidney • Douglas • Mack • Artie •

Just a handful of our boys who could have ended up in the same situation and Buddy who sadly did. 💔

We stand with them, we fight for them and we give our all to them.

If you share anything today. Please let it be Boris’s story. Let his passing not be in vain. - You never know it may save the life of another poor boy out there right now, fighting for his life, whilst humans watch and walk on by.

Rest peacefully beautiful Boris. We are sorry we couldn’t save you. We are sorry we were too late and we are sorry that no matter how hard we tried, those before you let you down.

Fly high sweetheart. Right over the rainbow. Be at peace now and for eternity. Forever in our hearts. 🧡💔🌈🐾

We can’t believe it’s been a year! 🙀

Elderly, FIV and riddled with health issues and of course, we didn’t give up!

Trig is now living his best life with long term foster Mom Helen.❣️

For anyone who questions what we do and the decisions we make as a branch, it’s instances like this, that make us want to ensure history does not repeat itself. We will always step in and help any cat that needs it, if we have the space to do so. If they’re entire, not chipped, living outside and in a poor condition, we will act. We’ve got their backs when so many others haven’t.

Please support your local RSPCA branches, they’re wholly separate to the National RSPCA and run by a handful of dedicated volunteers. Lack of support will eventually lead to lack of provison for the cats and that would just be incomprehensible when there is such a need for this support locally.

24 hours a day. 365 days a year. We are here working. Serving our rescues and fundraising tirelessly to continue to do what we do.
