Update - Thank you everyone. Minnie is home!!!

My young border collie has got out of my garden and has been missing several hours now. She is on epiley medication too so needs to be found asap. She is black and white with feint tan around her eyes with symmetrical white around her nose, white front legs and chest but only 4 thin white marks on the left side of her neck. She is quite small for a border collie. Her name is Minnie. She is microchipped but not wearing a collar. please call 078048 11379 if you see her.

To ensure a clean and safe environment for all our guests, we kindly ask that you take your dog’s toys home with you after each visit. This small step helps us maintain a tidy facility and ensures that every dog has a comfortable and enjoyable experience here.

There are many reasons why people may want to limit their dog’s access to toys such as chewing/ingestion or resource guarding and fighting. If your dog doesn’t have these issues it can be easy to think no harm is done by losing a tennis ball at the fields but please be mindful of others not as fortunate as you.

Broken or unwanted toys can be disposed of in the general waste bins in the car parks.

Paddock users: please take care of our facility. 🙏 We don’t want to sound like a broken record but we also want all users to use and enjoy our facility in a safe and respectful way.

Today we were contacted by a user who had found multiple 💩s in the field, most at the top of the field and their child had stood in one- not nice for anyone involved but particularly frustrating as we had already poo picked just yesterday! Children in particular can become very ill and even lose their sight from diseases in dog poo so please, please pick it up!

Please pick up after your pup and do a final check of the field (quick final circuit) to check for missed poos, toys and return equipment to a tidy state before the end of your session.

The paddock lost property is filled with toys, a tag and even some homework, I found these alll around the field but have collected them up for easy collection.

Thank you for using our facility, we hope if people can treat the field with a bit more care then everyone can find it a more enjoyable experience.

It’s hot!

We’ve filled up the pools in the meadow and the downs ready for the next customers who are in this evening When it’s hopefully cooled down a bit! ☀️🥵

Also polite request if you’ve broken something please let us know! It means we can mend or throw away the item without leaving it lying around as a hazard for the next users! I found this when tidying up the paddock today, we don’t mind you rearranging the agility course to suit your dogs abilities but please don’t use the weave poles as javelins 😬

Also during my visit I noticed one of the jump poles has been chewed by a dog which is not acceptable when we have bought this equipment for everyone to use. The t&c’s state to supervise your dogs and respect the facilities so please ensure that this is being done to keep things safe and useable for all of our clients 😇

1st June marks one whole year of West Oxford Dog Fields!

What a year it’s been! We faced the most challenging winter we can remember and the fields are now recovering from that well, we’ve enjoyed seeing all your happy dog posts and hearing about how using the fields has helped so many of you and your pups. Also watching the fields grow in popularity to being fully booked most of the time is wonderful to know that our little project was so worthwhile 🥰

There appears to be some naked dogs in Oxfordshire at the moment!

If you’ve left your dogs gear with us recently I’ve popped it into the lost property box to try and save it from the weather 🌦️

What’s going on here?

We’ve been busy planting something new to try and make a visual barrier between the fields as our attempts with the green mesh were constantly foiled by the wind! We’ve planted two different things that will both grow 1m+ at different times of year so hopefully there will be something blocking the fields all year round.

The sunflowers will also be making a come back but only in the downs this year

🐾 Happy Rescue Dog Day! 🐾

Today, we celebrate the incredible resilience and unconditional love of rescue dogs everywhere. ❤️🐶

Adopting a rescue dog not only changes their life but yours too. These furry friends have so much love to give and are just waiting for their forever homes. 🏡✨

Here’s how you can make a difference:

Adopt: Consider giving a rescue dog a second chance at a happy life.

Volunteer: Spend time at your local shelter to help care for and socialise the dogs.

Donate: Shelters often need supplies and funds to continue their lifesaving work.

Foster: Open your home temporarily to a dog in need, helping them adjust and find their forever family.

Advocate: Spread the word about the importance of adopting rescue dogs and supporting shelters.

Some rescue centres local to us that would love some support:

It’s Mental Health Awareness Week! Did you know that 53% of Adults in the UK own a pet and many of us pet owners believe our pets improve our mental health?

Whether it is being greated at the door by your pawsome pal or a long walk with your loyal companion to clear your mind we know that our pets help us feel better and brighten each day!

We know that our fields are helping many of our customers and their dogs mental health too! Our dogs are our best friends and are a source of comfort throughout our days however when you are the owner of a reactive dog some situations can cause a heightened stress.

That is why we built the West Oxford Dog Fields, to allow customers and their furry friends to enjoy a relaxed, stress-free and secure walk, away from worries and potential reactive triggers. We are really proud to be able to offer this place for our customers and love reading the reviews each week from new and recurring customers using our fields and taking the weight away from a stressful day with a walk in one of our fields.

Not booked in a while? Why not book your next slot now. Bookings can be transferred up to 48 hours before the session is due to start.

Good Morning West Oxford Dog Fields 😍

We were up before the sun this morning to get some mowing done at the fields! After what feels like the longest and wettest winter we are finally able to get back in the fields with a tractor to start our spring recovery plan. Paths are now back in The Downs and The Meadow and we’ve got more repair work scheduled to fill up the holes that have been dug in The Meadow.
