Over the course of many years caring for and helping people with their reptiles, I noticed that there was a dire need for leafy greens that specifically met the needs of animals, not just humans. Tortoises especially need high levels of fibre and minerals, and these simply aren’t available in the sort of salad greens that people eat.
Recently, there has been a rise in the availability of seed mixes aimed at growing these suitable plants for your reptile pets, but not everybody has the time, the space, or the ability to grow their own!
My polytunnel at home produced enough weeds to feed all the herbivores and omnivores in my reptile shop, and people kept asking where they could buy the food that his animals were tucking into so eagerly.
