MBM Vets’ Story

MBM Vets Kilmarnock and two other veterinary surgeries, in Mauchline and Beith, form MBM Veterinary Group.

Our Kilmarnock veterinary surgery was first established at 21 Hill Street over one hundred years ago in 1913. In those times, farm and equine medicine was the major focus, with the vets travelling out to visit their patients around Ayrshire. Over the decades, the practice expanded under the name of McKenzie Bryson & Marshall into a thriving, multidisciplinary practice treating all types of animals. We now have a fully equipped modern building which offers state of the art medical and surgical facilities for pets, horses and farm animals.

In 2014 we merged with Barr & MacMillan of Mauchline and, along with our Beith branch, the MBM Veterinary Group was born. Clients can now access facilities at all of our branches, not just their local branch.

Our vets, qualified veterinary nurses and support staff work in one of three departments, to treat pets, farm animals or horses. Our vets have a great depth of knowledge and experience and many have further postgraduate qualifications and special clinical interests. We have several RCVS Certificate holders in each department and an RCVS Specialist in Cattle Health and Production on our farm team. Each year, every team member undertakes ongoing training and we regularly attend veterinary conferences to make sure our knowledge and skills are at the forefront of current best practice.
