Banjo Catfish!
We hope you all had a good bank holiday!
Our final feature fish of this week:
Banjo Catfish - A secretive catfish that typically inhabits darker lakes and streams, hiding in the fine substrate. Therefore they appreciate this kind of set up in aquariums, and can often be seen burying themselves back under, as seen in this video. They can reach a size of 15cm so prefer large, mature tanks with fish of a similar size. You might not see them that often but they can still make a great addition to a community tank.

When you can’t decide how to decorate 😂😂
Here at Kings Lynn we have some lovely live-bearing fish ranging from platys to mollies, here is a sneak peek of what we have in store 😊.
Introducing the Banjo Catfish (Bunocephalus coracoideus). This shy oddball catfish can bury themselves completely under substrate such as sand, however as you can see they soon emerge for food 😊.
Banjo Catfish can grow to 12cm and are best kept in well established aquariums without smaller fish. As this species of catfish are shy and love to bury themselves we recommend a fine substrate with plenty of hiding places.
We currently sell our Banjo Catfish at £4 each or 3 for £9!!!!
