Keep those pups safe 🐶

I’ve seen this fantastic graphic circulating a lot over the last few days and thought it worth sharing with you all.

Many will not be aware of the laws around travelling with a dog in your car, so please have a read and ensure your pets are sufficiently restrained when travelling. It all comes down to safety for you and your dog, as well as any other road users.

This smiley little chap is Hamley and he has a favour to ask...

After a tough period involving a encounter with a not so friendly dog and losing his best friend, Hamley is after a playmate to build his confidence around dogs again.

If you have a gentle dog that Hamley could have a few regular play dates just to help him remember that not all dogs are out there to hurt him, please get in touch and I will put you in contact with his owner.

Of course The Field would be available as a neutral space for these lovely dogs to get to know one another.

Even if you don’t know of a suitable dog, please give this post a share to help Hamley find that friend 🐾

In case there’s anyone on here with a very small dog...

Weatherbeeta Deluxe 1200d dog coat in navy. Size 30cm (measured from base of neck to base of tail) so will fit a very small dog. Brand new. Never been used. Misread the size when I ordered it! £15 ono.

Popped into the lovely Dog&Soap today. It looks fab!

Why not pop in after a walk at The Field to give your pups a pamper? Nice & peaceful walkies, choose a groom from their many options, pick up some scrummy treats from their extensive pick n mix on your way out. Go home with a relaxed, happy & beautifully smelling dog! What could be better? 🐶

Sorry we have been a bit quiet on here recently. It’s always a struggle adjusting to these dark evenings and making sure dogs are walked and horses are put to bed before 5pm!

We are thinking about holding an open day in the Spring. A few stalls, dog show, maybe some agility? A chance for people to see what we have to offer, a chance to sign up to our loyalty scheme? Is this something people would like to come to? What kind of stalls, classes etc would you like to see? 🐶

Not field related but thought I’d share this!

Alfie really struggled with his digestion/ constipation/ weight gain when he was a puppy. We tried all different food, Royal Canin, Hills, Skinners, but Tails has been the only one to sort him out. I tried the one month free when he was one year old and haven’t looked back! You enter your dogs details and they custom make the food to suit them perfectly.

Especially good as they automatically send it to your door so you never run out and have to do a mad dash round the shops trying to find it in stock. You can change delivery dates if needed, request wet food, add treats, poo bags etc.

Thought it was worth a share! 🐶

As we come towards one month of being open, I’d just like to take a moment to thank everyone that has supported us so far! Thank you to all of our wonderful customers for every share, comment, recommendation to a friend, we are truly grateful. It’s been a busy month but we have loved meeting all of you and your beautiful dogs!

The Field at Sturtlebury Stables may be the place for you. Just over an acre of land located between Loddiswell and Kingsbridge, available for private or group hire.

A guaranteed private space for those nervous dogs that need their confidence building, those that aren’t ready to be off lead in a public area, or available for block bookings to run clinics/ training days etc.

We are slowly building up our mini agility here at The Field! You can now make use of our mini tunnel, podium, weave poles and there’s even a paddling pool for your pooches to cool off in 💦

It’s a work in progress but comment below what kind of obstacles you’d like to see next and we will try to make it happen! 🐶

If you are unable to do so, give us a message ahead of your booking and we will try to find a solution. Dogs must be vaccinated in order to use The Field 🐾

The Field will open for walkies on Sunday 1st of September!

We are now taking bookings 🐾 Please message the page and a member of The Field team will get back to you.

Before dogs are allowed off lead a field walk must be completed and a contract signed. Please allow an extra 20 minutes to your walk to accommodate this.

The Field will be available for private hire, for nervous individuals wanting some peace and quiet, up to a maximum of 5 dogs needing to practice their recall! Currently there is 1m stock fencing on 3 sides and hedging on the 4th. A field walk will be compulsory before any T&C’s are signed and dogs are allowed off lead 🐾
