Large Religious antique figures set around a gorgeous wooden shrine all from the low lands of Europe where Christianity stood firm for centuries and Christ and his church helped make our civilisation what it is today warts and all.
In the reel we have a European Madonna in the central alter dressed in traditional clothing of the time, with the fear of what is about to happen to her etched upon her face as she gazes down her hands clasping her tummy.

The figures to either side of the alter are of Mary Magdalene with that famous flask of oil in her hand, probably to become the closet, truest follower and friend that Jesus was to have during his short life.
In blue before her epiphany as she first appears in the gospels a woman distressed and in desperation, at the very end of herself recognising Jesus for who he was and anointing his feet with oil and drying them with her long flowing hair.
Later in gilt (to the right) Mary Magdalene is transformed and now becomes Jesus’s closet companion, friend and follower at his side from the day on, to his crucifixion, burial and his resurrection anointing him to the very end. When all else had deserted him, apart from his own mother, she stood there.
