🌈 Forever in your heart πŸΎπŸ’•

They say time heals, but when it comes to losing a pet, time only teaches us how to carry the ache a little more gently. Because the truth is, they never really leave us. Their bowls may be empty, their beds untouched, and the house quieter than we remember, but they still live within us, tucked safely in the corners of our hearts where their paw prints will never fade. In every quiet moment, in every familiar place, we feel them, the echo of their steps, the warmth of their presence, the loyalty that never truly left. I believe they watch over us from a place filled with peace, tails wagging or purring softly, proud of how far we’ve come without them, and still loving us with every beat of our grieving hearts. They were never just pets, they were a part of our souls, and they still are.

Beautiful words πŸΎπŸ’•

Stay with me just a little longer, please… I know you’re tired, I see it in your eyes, and I feel it in your little breaths. But I’m not ready to let you go. You’ve been my best friend, my comfort in the silence, my laughter in the loneliness, my light in the dark. I would give anything to trade places with you, to give you more time to chase the sun or sleep in your favorite spot by the window. You gave me everything without asking for anything in return, just love, always love. And now, as I hold you close, my heart is breaking in a way I never thought it could. If love alone could save you, you would’ve lived forever. Thank you for loving me through every season of my life. I hope I made you feel as safe and cherished as you made me feel. I’ll carry you in my soul for the rest of my life. Sleep now, my love… you can let go. I’ll be okay, but I’ll miss you with every beat of my heart.

Although the sun isn't always shining, the air is still very warm and animals can overheat quickly, PDSA share a variety of helpful hints and advice for all pets, big and small 🐾

We all know how important it is to keep our dogs and cats cool on warm days, but may not realise that it's just as important for small animals too β›…

Small pets like rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, and rats should be kept cool and hydrated during warm weather to prevent them from developing life-threatening heatstroke.

Signs of heatstroke in small pets:
- Drooling.
- Quick breaths.
- Struggling to breathe.
- Acting very sleepy or lethargic.
- Collapsing.
- Seizures.

It's also a good idea to keep on top of cleaning their enclosures to prevent flystrike or a build up of wet bedding and mouldy food 🐰🐰

It features tips such as: Keeping pets in the shade, offering safe watery fruits and vegetables (in moderation), swapping out plastic houses for something cooler like cardboard boxes, freezing a water bottle and wrapping it in a towel before placing it next to your pets' enclosure, placing a fan in their room but not pointed directly at them (making sure they can't nibble any wires), grooming long-haired or fluffy pets, refreshing their water every day, and putting a cool tile or empty ceramic bowl/tea cup in their enclosure for them to sit on/in.]

Keepsake jars πŸ«™πŸΎπŸ’•

When your pet passes away, it is a very distressing time for you and decisions such as choosing the right casket can be difficult to make at the time.

Some owners feel that they would like to scatter their beloved pets ashes, others prefer a more permanent casket.

However, regardless of choice, we are asked frequently about trinkets for a small amount of their pets ashes to be kept in as a keepsake. We therefore we have added these small glass keepsakes to our range.

These are the ideal size for some of your pets ashes, fur cutting or even both if you wish 🐾

These are now available to purchase, please speak to a member of our team if you would like any further information πŸ’•

Thank you and good bye.

We are very sad to say that Tara will be leaving our team to embark on a new adventure with her family in North Yorkshire.

Tara joined the Halsham Pet Crematorium team as our first employee 4 years ago and has been a key figure in our family run business ever since.

Many of you will have met Tara, seen her Facebook posts or spoken to her on the phone. She is always companionate, caring and professional and has treated Halsham Pet Crematorium like her own business.

We would like to say an enormous thank you for her hard work and dedication over the years in helping drive our small family start up business forward and being a friendly face for our customers.

We know that she will be hugely missed by everyone. Thank you once again and we wish you all the best in your next steps.

Here's a couple of plaques we've made this week.
If you didn't already know, we recently got the equipment to make our own name plaques here at Halsham Pet Crematorium. These are personalised for you, with a name, dates and even a few words if you wish. A lovely way to finish any of our wooden caskets πŸ’š
