Please keep your animals safe on Bonfire Night 🔥🎆

Whilst many of us enjoy fireworks, sadly, to our animal companions they aren’t so enjoyable. Many become anxious and some tremble with fear 😔

Here at the sanctuary, we try to keep all our animals as calm and relaxed as possible by providing various calming aids, puzzle feeders and plenty of enrichment.

Here are some useful hints on what you can do to help your fur companion:

🎇 Walk dogs before it gets dark and always ensure they are on a lead.

🎆 Keep cats indoors

🎇 Put thick sheets up over rabbit or guinea pig enclosures. This will help to block out the flashes but ensure you are still allowing air to circulate.

🎆 Check microchip details are up to date.

🎇 Provide plenty of hideaways, especially for small furries.

🎆 Keep windows, doors and curtains closed to help reduce the sound and the flashes.

🎇 Provide your animals with plenty of enrichment.

🎆 Use calming aids to help reduce stress and anxiety.

🎇 Have your vet’s contact details at hand in case of an emergency.

🎆 Classic FM have a special program to help keep pets calm on Saturday 5th from 5-9pm.

Here’s hoping one day all fireworks will be no bang 🤞
