Our Feline spay/neuter Voo patients 🐈:
1) Pre-operative assessment
2) Blood tests & weight measurement. To check for key organ function, to ensure your pet is healthy prior to anaesthetic and to confirm blood type.

For a rescue cat, we check for the feline viruses, FeLV/FIV. 🐈‍⬛

Blood-typing can be life-saving, because unlike dogs, cats must receive the correct blood type, so should your cat ever need a transfusion.

Pain medication and intravenous fluids are given during the procedure and throughout recovery. Fluids help to maintain good blood flow during the anaesthetic and help to remove drugs from the system following the surgery, making recovery as quick and comfortable as possible.

We may even ask if you would like your cat to be an occasional donor, to help save the lives of other cats.

It is Spay/Neuter Awareness Month 🩵

Voo have partnered with Oliva Cox and her 6th month old Multipoo, Olive. Olivia has been sharing Olive’s spaying journey via her Instagram.

Neutering pets is a routine procedure and with Voo’s experienced team, pets are to be fully recovered in 2 or 3 days following surgery. Voo’s surgical procedures are always performed in a dedicated operating room. This ensures a strict aseptic technique, to prevent the risk of infection and reduce the need for antibiotics following an operation.

Our commitment is to provide the highest levels of standards and quality of care, for all aspects of surgery, anaesthesia and monitoring, for all our patients. ✂️

Snip snip ✂️✂️

We recommend most neutering procedures are performed by 6 months of age. It is typically the first surgery your pet will experience, so we work hard to make sure every aspect of their experience with us is a positive one.

A routine procedure and with our experienced team, we expect pets to be fully recovered in 2 or 3 days following surgery. Our surgical procedures are always performed in a dedicated operating room.

Our commitment is to provide the highest levels of standards and quality of care, for all aspects of surgery, anaesthesia and monitoring, for all our patients.

Your pets need a social life too!

Not all are party animals but time with their own species is key for their wellbeing and there are benefits for you too! A dog walk is a great opportunity to get your a daily dose of fresh air, hitting your desired step count and interacting with like-minded people all contribute to healthy mindset.

Socialising provides much needed mental stimulation. Pet interactions can keep them challenged and stimulated which is key to a healthy mind. Especially as pets get older as they can suffer from degenerative conditions leading to dementia like signs too which may be reduced or potentially prevented via mental stimulation.

Cats are more independent then dogs, but it’s a misconception that they are anti-social because they naturally exhibit friendly social interactions which also benefit our fiesty felines.

#7 Holiday Blues

The festive season can be a chance to escape away on a well-earned holiday. But if you do pop out for some festive egg nog, don’t leave your pet for too long – our furry friends deserve the love and a share of the festive fun as much as we do.

Spend time with them this winter. It is the perfect opportunity to crack open the pet games you’ve had for months.

By following our Christmas tips, you can make the most of the wonderful festive season with your furry friends and avoid any potential problems.

Remember to ☎️ and quote NewYearNewVoo for a complimentary consultation.

#8 A busy house

Christmas time often means a busy home, with friends and family coming together for the festivites.

Remember new faces and more noise can be scary for your pet, so it’s a good idea to provide them with a safe room so they can escape and be put at ease if it all becomes too much.

If nessersary, we offer home visits from Monday to Friday. We can usually examine your pet at home, perform vaccinations, boosters, flea and worming treatments. However, there are some things we cannot do during a home visit, so, if agreed, we can take your pet to the clinic, for further tests or treatment, should this be required.

Remember to ☎️ and quote NewYearNewVoo for a complimentary consultation.
