Our wonderful groomer Keira, who many of you know, helps out at rescue kennels and this charity save dogs from the Chinese Meat Markets. They are literally on the verge of having been fattened up to treated abominably and then slaughtered to be added to a menu.

If anyone is in a position to foster or could share this post to help get the word out to more potential fosterers please do! Thank you so much 🙏

Interesting about raw fed cats. We know and have plenty of evidence that raw fed dogs have less shedding & healthier skin but this is the first time I’ve heard such a dramatic change in cat allergy which is so common.

I have an allergy to cat hair. Realised it when I was working in the shelters back in the day. My eyes would be streaming cleaning out the cattery, itchy, tightness in chest, copious amounts of snot (you have finished your brekkie, yes?!). It was only after a year or so that someone said maybe it was cat hair. Low and behold, soon as I stopped cleaning the cattery, the fosset in my face turned off and my sleeves decrusted over time.

So, all my life, if I walk into a house and see cats, I sort of know I’m going to have that inflammatory response. But it doesn’t happen with all cats. In my life, I have gotten away with it with maybe 2 or 3 cats.

Anyone have any insight on why it might not be every cat?!

A theory just arose last night. I was about to spend the night in a very cat-y house. I brought my antihistamines. 2-3 lovely, friendly cats (not sure) roaming around. I slept in the spare room where the cats often sat to get the sun in the evening.

I never would have gotten away with that before. I voiced my concerns and my friend said to me “ahh, don't worry, you won’t have a reaction to them, they’re raw-fed”.

It couldn't be, could it?! Have to admit, I didn’t believe him. Too good to be true! But here I am, the next day, not a bother. A perfect night's sleep.

Is this something?! Can't find anything online of use.

When I reflect on the few cats I've been OK with for extended periods (Bren's, Nick's and my friends in Australia), they were all raw-fed. I can't remember being around a dry-fed cat I'm OK with.

Any and all thoughts welcome!

We love ❤️ (and stock) these very dog friendly harnesses.

If your dog wears a harness make sure it’s a harness that’s been designed for the dog and not the owner

Of course the Reg&Bob harness looks great but it’s key features are totally about ensuring a dog’s comfort and mobility

Galen Myotherapist Lucy designed Reg&Bob’s harness only with those considerations because she can often treats dogs who show symptoms from badly designed harnesses

If you have harness concerns send a DM and we’ll answer all your questions

Great post - remember dogs in yellow need space! However friendly or well behaved your dog is allowing a dog in yellow space will build their confidence, allow them to exercise and keep their anxiety low.

It is Dogs in Yellow Day. 💛🐶

When you are out on a walk and you see a dog with yellow on, either a ribbon around its collar, a lead slip or a yellow jacket, do you know what to do?

Well today is the day where we spread awareness of what it means to have a dog in yellow.

If a dog is wearing yellow it means that they need space away from other dogs and people. This can be down to many reasons:

💛have health issues
💛 be a rescue dog being rehabilitated
💛 have had a bad experience with another dog or
is just not like the kind of friendly dogs which
always want to say “Hi!
💛 be a bitch that may be in heat
💛 be in training
💛 be very old and arthritic
💛 be nervous or shy

When you see a dog wearing yellow, if your dog is off lead, re-call your dog and place back on lead and then create as much distance as you can to allow the owner and the dog to pass you.

A lot of our dogs come to us from experiences which have meant they are nervous of new things in their environments, other dogs and people. We understand that these dogs need space in order to feel safe and calm when on walks.
