On Monday we sadly found Bob, one of our Albino Hobs had slipped away in his sleep. Bob hadn't been himself for a while, and had only been to the vets 2 weeks prior. We thought he had a reflux problem, and had tried to omit certain food types from his diet, but with no success. I'm sure that his Ferret Dad was waiting in the spirit world to welcome him. Sleep easy Bob 💔
We now just have 5 fuzzies left, and 2 of those are old timers!

On Saturday, we had to make an awful decision to put our sweet Tom to sleep 😭 Tom had been struggling to go to the toilet on Friday, so a trip to the vets was required. They did a scan, and found that his little bladder was full of gall stones! There were too many to dissolve, and an operation, would be risky and wouldn't guarantee that they wouldn't return. So we decided the best option for Tom was to let him go, while he was under from his scan. We will miss his precious little face. RIP Tom and go find your Ferret Dad ###

We are both heartbroken this morning, on pulling the covers up on Clovers pen, we found that she had passed away, probably not that long, after she'd had her tea last night. She was our last Ferret lady, and had shown no signs of illness at all. We have lost so many this year, but unfortunately the majority of our rescues here, are all clocking on in years. Rest assured that all of our residents, are being looked after, just the same, as when their Dad was looking after them. They are cleaned out everyday, fed twice a day, morning and night, and all are rotated round between our two enrichment pens. It doesn't get any easier, when we loose one of our fuzzies, in fact it seems to get harder 😪 This year has been hard, a struggle to get motivated at times, but we will still continue to keep plodding on, whatever the weather, in Keith's memory we will continue to look after his beloved ferrets. RIP little Clover, your Dad will be waiting for you xx

We are absolutely heartbroken this morning 😭😭 We found our beautiful boy Loki fast asleep, 9 months and a day since his Ferret Dad passed away. He obviously went peacefully in his sleep, curled up and cosy. Loki was the sweetest little boy, and loved a cuddle and a snuggle, he will be missed terribly 💔 RIP Loki, go find your Ferret Dad 💔

It is with great sadness that we had to say farewell to our oldest resident little Kitty. Just like the Queen she passed of old age, she will be missed greatly. Fly high sweet Kitty, go find your Ferret Dad 😭💔

Sadly we lost our little Sophie on Saturday morning. We are deeply upset, and hope she has found her Ferret sister Sally, and her Ferret Dad. Rest in Peace little girl ###xx

Sad news this morning for the Ferret community, sadly Sue Burns a beautiful animal rescuer, has lost her battle to cancer. We send our condolences to her family and close friends. Go make some beautiful poetry in heaven, and I hope you bump into Keith Hepwood and have a blast!!! 💔💔💔

Well like everyone, it's a real worry in this heat for our ferrets 😪 we are misting our ferrets with water every hour, they all have bowls of water and tiles in their pens. Trying to keep them under the shade with sheets and parasols. Praying we get through today, and that it's cooler tomorrow x

Another sad day today 😞 This morning we found our beloved little Gilbert had passed away in his sleep 😪 no signs of illness, so we can only presume maybe, a heart attack, although he looked very peaceful! Ironically he was named after a very dear friend, whose birthday is also today! Strange how things happen!! Rest in peace little Gilbert, go spread your wings and find your dad Keith 💔💔💔

Well Dad's Funeral was last week 2/3/22. His last wish was to ride in a Land-Rover, he didn't want anything fancy, and just a simple service (he wasn't religious at all)! We had a fabulous group of guys, who gave up their time to follow the procession to the Crematorium, he would of loved that! We would as a family, like to thank everyone who attended, and for all your kind words and messages, it really means alot 💗 We would also like to thank you all for your generous donations, we have been blown away by your generosity. Donations will be split, equally between Hillside Animal Sanctuary, Cuan Wildlife Sanctuary, The Badgers Trust, Ravens Rescue and even some left over to help Val continue to look after his beloved ferrets, so thank you from the bottom of our hearts 💗 Val Kay & Ian x

To all our Ferret friends who would like to pay their last respects to Keith Hepwood, his funeral arrangements are to be held at Gornal Crematorium on Wednesday 2nd March at 2.10pm, followed by a celebration of his life at Shipways The Lodge, Dudley. Dress Code is optional, and family flowers only. Any donations received will be split between Hillside Animal Sanctuary, Cuan Wildlife Sanctuary, The Badger Trust or a small cash donation to help Valerie his wife continue with looking after his beloved ferrets ❤Many thanks indeed Kay ❤

It is with a very heavy heart, that my wonderful Dad Keith Hepwood passed away peacefully yesterday evening at 11.50pm. We would as a family, like to thank you all for your custom over the last few years. Dad absolutely loved and adored ferrets, aswell as all other wildlife and animals, he had a heart of pure kindness, and was a beautiful soul ❤

Well good people, my operation didn't happen, Surgeon said he couldn't do it until the problem with my Liver is sorted, trouble is they don't know what the problem is. Well pi**ed off!!!! And what has your Liver got to do with a Hip replacement?.

Ok folks I will be off air for a while as I at last have my date for my Hip replacement surgery, 23.11.21. That should I hope get rid of some of the pain. Then start allover again with my Knee's, one replacement and one to renew as it has now, been 14years since first done and is now worn out.

Ferret shows are beginning to appear again, please give them your support if possible, it's a great day out and for newcomers help is always available. Just one thing, your Ferrets must be in a suitable cage Ferrets in carriers are not allowed.
