And yesterday at Carlisle Racecourse Walk On Quest won his second chase for The Crick Girls, and Derek. We are so pleased for Esther and Rachel who lost two horses last season and Quest is helping heal their hearts.

With Hexham being off today due to frozen ground what better way to warm you up than watching the jockeys of the future racing their furry little friends!

The Shetland Pony Grand National raises money every year for the Bob Champion Cancer Trust. These guys race up and down the country and they were at Cheltenham on Sunday. Some of these lucky lucky kids have been asked to go out to Japan to do demo's and race over there! What a fantastic opportunity for them!

A second homebred winner in two days for the Gibbons Family, bred at Lawers Stud by Robert Gibbons Snr.

Old Gregorian wins at Wetherby Racecourse & Conference Centre under Alan and led up (and adored) by Lauren.

A close miss for Value Racing Club owned Ballydisco in the three mile chase.

Well done everyone at home the horses are running brilliantly.

Well, that was a Friday!

Two winners at Newcastle Racecourse and two new horses from Tattersalls Cheltenham Sales

Huge congratulations to Ann and Alan Grant owners of the ultra enthusiastic and genuine Starlyte who followed up after her Kelso win last weekend. After Patrick breaking his collarbone Derek took the winning ride.

Later on Hunter's Spring won the junior bumper on her debut for the Gibbons and Conner McCann showing a nice turn of hoof.

Well done to Evie and Eildh who ride Starlyte and Hunter's Spring at home and led them up today.

Meanwhile at Cheltenham Scu, Lucinda and Paul spent the day viewing the horses at the Tattersalls Cheltenham Sales and were delighted to buy two chasing types.

Spadestep is an improving five year old with lots of scope who won his point gamely and Conman John is a talented four year old winner who won by ten lengths on his last start. Both are most exciting.

Cycle 4 Caroline

Next Wednesday a group of intrepid (crazy?) Event riders are setting off from Blair Castle to cycle to the Savoy in London covering 1,100 km to raise funds for two charities British Eventing Support Trust (like our IJF) And the Spinal Research Trust

The team are ending their first day with us and we are looking forward to welcoming them to Lucinda Russell Racing

A perfect hurdles debut for Evaluation and so good to train him to win at Ayr Racecourse for Lady I and Catriona Good. Catriona and my fathers were great friends so it is lovely to share this wonderful young horse's success

It has taken time for the yard to come to terms with the loss of Nastasiya, hence the silence. A young filly she started off very protective of herself and was one who had to have a headcollar on to handle her, she gradually understood our ways and became the sweetest, gentle girl who loved human company. Wearing her heart on her sleeve in every race she had ability and was unlucky not to win with us. Travelling to challenge for the lead she had an awkward fall at Kelso last Sunday, and despite cantering past the stands she had incurred an irreparable fracture to her shoulder. Everyone who looked after Nastasiya in her short time here has been affected by her loss. We are reassured that she was a happy horse looked after at each turn but able to enjoy her freedom, but we will miss her immeasurably. Our heartfelt love to all her owners in Value Racing in particular James C who leads the syndicate

Apple Away decided to give poor Reece the run around this morning as she didn't fancy coming in from the field! Hannah took the video and you can hear her laughing the whole way through 😂😂😂😂

Ahoy Senor managed to get hold of his bucket this morning and had great fun swinging it about before throwing across the yard to Hannah's feet. P.s. Please excuse the bad quality of the video - that's iphones for you 😂

Our good friend David Lawson brought his drone to the yard and has taken amazing footage of second lot at Arlary earlier this week. Heading out, up and down the gallop, home and cooling off. Great work David (Multi talented, David also transports for us) and thank you
