IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!

Evening everyone, I'm absolutely gutted to have to say this, but unfortunately I've had to make the decision to close Izzy's Kitchen. Sadly the cost of ingredients has significantly increased (in some cases doubled!) and the cost of baking has shot up thanks to the electricity price increase.

I'm beyond devastated as I was so excited to get back to it, and had amazing plans for Halloween and Christmas, plus expanding to a more permanent set up for the future. But it's just not the right time. Unfortunately running, and potentially expanding the business just isn't viable with the cost of living and expenses just now, especially with a little one to support.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all your support throughout our venture. I've loved every minute of it (maybe not the first mega late night when our label printer broke and I had to handwrite everything 😅), and both Izzy and I loved meeting all our 2 and 4 legged customers at the box.

Hi Everyone,

So I've been asked a few times what I'm planning on doing with Izzy's Kitchen going forward. It's been on my mind a lot lately, and I have to admit I'm not sure where to go from here with it.

On the one hand, I absolutely loved doing it. It was amazing to see so many happy dogs (and owners) enjoying something I made. And I really, really miss baking, and meeting all our customers.

But on the other hand, I'm unsure if I can continue running things how I did in the past. With the extreme increase in electricity and ingredient prices, as well as Finn taking up all of my spare time now (what even is spare time when you have a kid?!), it's hard to know if it's even going to be a viable option to restart things again.

If I was to dust off my apron and rolling pin, I think it would mean some changes to how I run, and how much I bake/when as I would have to work around being a Mum too.

I'm going to pop some questions in the comments below (and on my Instagram stories), and would really appreciate if you could take the time to answer them, as it would help me decide what's best going forward.

She turned 5 on Sunday, and had a fun day of treats, toys, pupcakes and cuddles 🐾

(Please excuse the rug, it's knackered but there's no point replacing it til after the potty training stage 😅)

Happy Tuesday! We hope you've all had a fantastic Easter weekend, filled with lots of walks and treats for the dogs, and hot cross buns, family and (most importantly) CHOCOLATE for the humans!

I've had a few folk asking about when my maternity leave will end. I've deliberately left it open-ended, as I don't want to rush back to hectic weekends of baking, and miss out on this precious time with our little boy. He's already growing so fast and I know the next year will go by just as quickly.

So, the box will remain closed for the time being. I'm hoping to open it again at some point, but I'm unsure when so will keep you all posted.

However, I am able to take on some special orders of birthday cakes or boxes from the beginning of May onwards. I'll have limited availability as I need to work around my husbands shifts so there's someone else here to see to Finn if he needs it, so I'd recommend getting in touch quickly if you'd like to book anything.

Also, I'd really appreciate if you could like/share/comment on this post if you see it. Since I've been on maternity leave my reach has gone waaaaay down, so hardly anyone sees my posts 💔

One year yesterday since the first day Izzy's Kitchen was open!

We're still on maternity leave, but we celebrated with a fun walk at the beach with Izzy's new little pal Arlo 😍 Follow on Instagram to keep up with his adventures in Edinburgh, and admire his ever expanding wardrobe 😎

Our new best friend Finn joined us last week and we couldn't be more in love with him. Izzy has been the best big sister, always peering into his basket to check on him and lying next to him when he's being changed 🥰 We can't wait to see what adventures they get up to together in future 👶🏻🐾

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

2021 had it's ups and downs that's for sure, but starting our little Izzy's Kitchen adventure has definitely been a highlight. It's been hectic, messy and a little stressful at times (trying to bake whilst in the early pregnancy exhaustion phase was NOT fun 😴), but I wouldn't change it. I'm sure 2022 will be full of even more mayhem if Izzy has her way, with her new bestie by her side! 👶🏻🐶

I've already got some new ideas for the future, and I can't wait to get back into the swing of it all in a few months time 🐾

37 boxes, ribbons and tags, 259 bags, 700+ biscuits, almost 600 chocolates, god knows how many popcorn kernels and one blister from tying so many ribbons in a row later...

All the Christmas boxes have been collected!! 😱

I'm so grateful to be able to help spoil all these pups on Christmas, and can't wait to see all the photos of them with their goodies 🥰

Thank you so much for all your support throughout the year, I honestly can't explain how much it means to us. Christmas has officially hit number 25 🥳

We normally wait until the 1st or 2nd to decorate, but Tom's working so we popped to yesterday to buy our tree and decorated tonight! I'm definitely not complaining though 😏

As you can see, Iz and Lil were delighted to be forced to pose, YET AGAIN 😅

When do you put up your decorations? We'd love to see pics of your dogs posing by the tree 🎄

FULLY BOOKED

A wee update for you all that my diary is now fully booked for orders until the end of the year when I'll officially be closing up for maternity leave.

Don't despair though, as there's still a chance of getting your paws on one of our Christmas boxes! 🎄🎅🏻

There'll be limited stock so if you know a pooch that's been good this year and needs a special treat, you'll need to keep an eye on our social media pages on Sunday 28th November, when I'll be posting full details and opening pre orders.

I'm about to use the C word, so if you're a grinch, skip this post! 😅🎅🏻🎄

I'm starting to get myself organised for Christmas!! Getting all my gifts bought and wrapped in advance, so I'm as organised as possible before my brain dives into nesting mode and I start nursery decorating 😆

So on that note, I'm hoping (if I'm still keeping well and not too exhausted/heavy by then 😅) to do some special Christmas themed treat boxes. I'm planning that these will consist of various festive shaped biscuits and chocolates, packaged up all christmassy using our usual A4(ish) sized birthday boxes.

They'd be tied up with ribbon, complete with tag, so all you have to do is pop it under the tree and keep nosy pups away from it until Santa has been!

The boxes would be pre order only, with limited availability and collection slots arranged for Christmas Eve. This means they wouldn't be available to be posted in advance unfortunately.
