🌊 Imogen’s Summer Survival Guide: Lakes & Wild Swimming Warning ☀️🐾

Wild swimming might seem like a great way to cool off, but not all water is safe for dogs.

🚫 Lakes, ponds, and slow-moving rivers in summer can contain:
🔹 Blue-green algae – highly toxic, even in small amounts
🔹 Leptospirosis – a dangerous bacteria spread in contaminated water
🔹 Parasites – like giardia, which can cause nasty tummy upsets

🐶 Always check for warning signs near lakes, avoid stagnant water, and rinse your dog off after wild swims. When in doubt, skip it and stick to safe water fun like hydrotherapy or paddling pools!

✨ Milo’s Rehabilitation Plan – Part 3 ✨

Sorry for the deyaled update! Here is Milo, our brave 12-week-old kitten with swimmer syndrome, who is continuing to amaze us all with his determination! 🐾💚

He’s now had custom-built splints made with a 3D printer to help him stand, and after realising he needed extra support, a full 3D printed frame has also been made just for him. 🖤✨

The best news? Milo’s neurological response is slowly returning in his hindlimbs 🙌 He’s now starting to respond to tactile stimulation, which is a huge step forward in his rehabilitation journey.

Alongside this, Milo continues with his home physiotherapy exercises while his legs are gently taped in place to encourage correct positioning and help build strength. 💪🐱

We’re so proud of how far he’s come already — and salmon paste is still the ultimate motivator! 🐟💕

On a warm day, car temperatures can rise dangerously fast – even with the windows cracked. Dogs can suffer from heatstroke in just minutes, which can be fatal.

If your dog isn’t welcome where you’re going, the safest place is at home in the shade with plenty of water 💚
