Revisit & Reinforce Session
Lovely catch up with a previous client, Revisit & Reinforce Training, fab natured dog, great example of heel work, you both did amazing π€© looking forward to to the next sessions.πππΆ
A flashback to last years puppy class; this was a non verbal class wk 4 or 5 I think , just to show that you don't always need a lot of words; we can say too many sometimes and the pup can tune out, this was a young lab doing their best to concentrate ππΆπ
Its been a tough past 12mths, particularly the last 5, where I have struggled massively with my health. Im turning a corner now and looking to get back into the swing of things, as I was looking through my phone I found this little video of me a while ago starting training Archie on loose lead halti, I feel sometimes you forget the progress you make as other stuff gets in the way. I thought it was a good vid to show as the reason behind this training was that he was very reactive to people and cars, so I felt I needed more control; he does walk in front a little but this was early days on this lead; I wanted to associate it with a good experience, so I used voice commands to get him on the right side facing traffic (you can see he is a little worried and takes a click to concentrate on what I'm saying) however, my main prerogative was to have him relaxed I do recommend these halti types as they can be a god send in certain situations, and unlike the figure of 8 (slip knot) which can be mis-used (don't get me wrong the slip lead has their place in certain situations) he can pant, drink and take treats without any pressure on his nose, unless mitigated by the handler. Good Boy Archie ππΆπ
I would just like to post this video that one of my amazing clients has just sent, to show the great progress being made, after one of our training sessions. This is a great example of keeping your dogβs FOCUS under distractions. Well done of both of you πππΆ
Almost a perfect load, there is always oneππ€
