Kaia has completed the Obedience Training program. 🐾 This sweet lady has learned so much! Training gave Kaia more structure in her life, which has improved her destructive behavior, anxiety, and overall confidence around distractions. Very proud!

Be prepared for the upcoming holiday! 🎆

The Fourth of July is under 3 weeks away! 🇺🇸 Here are some safety tips to help your pets during the holiday celebrations. 💥

🐾 Call your veterinarian for prescribed medication ASAP if your pet is extremely anxious from fireworks.
🐾 Be sure your pet has a correctly fitted collar with an ID tag with updated contact information.
🐾 Keep your pets leashed and supervised while outdoors. Scared animals can and will find ways to escape!
🐾 Have a recent, clear, and front-facing photo of your pet to post on social media pages if they escape.
🐾 Confine your pets to a safe space in the evenings (crate or room). Play music or have a fan running to help block sounds.
🐾 Keep your pets busy with toys or enrichment activities to distract them from noises outdoors.

‼️ More pets go missing over Fourth of July weekend than any other time of the year ‼️
Keep your pets safe and enjoy your holiday celebrations!

Just wanted to share some exciting news 🎉🥳

Today, I submitted my application to renew my CPDT-KA certification with the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. 🙌🏻 My test this fall is 200 questions on knowledge and skills in ethology, learning theory, dog training technique, and instruction.

Each and every client I’ve worked with in the tri-base area in the last two years has helped me surpass the minimum eligibility requirement of 300 dog training hours. So THANK YOU for being wonderful, dedicated clients! ☺️

ANGEL 🩵 the 8 year old Lab Mix is currently enrolled in the Managing Reactivity program. 🐾

Our goals are to manage walks and make them more fun for all involved, and to help build this sweet girl’s confidence to live a happy, healthy life. I’m looking forward to our next few lessons!

Congratulations, Pancake 💛🎓

We had our last lesson today in the Bury St Edmunds city centre. This sweet girl has gained SO much confidence and is doing an excellent job ignoring challenging distractions…people, dogs, birds…Before, Pancake was lunging toward and jumping on everyone to say hello, now she’s very polite and can nicely walk by. Great job!!

Congratulations, Whiskey 🎓🧡

Whiskey has officially completed the Walk & Train program and I’m amazed by his progress! He no longer pulls you over chasing after birds and squirrels, and is able to walk calmly through the “forested” areas and not whine from excitement. Great job, kiddo!

This big pup has completed the Obedience Training program and has learned all of his basic commands. As he continues to grow (in size 😵‍💫) and maturity, having this obedience foundation will help him navigate the world much more easily! Hagrid is going to do great things!

WALLY 💚 the 2 year old Labradoodle is BACK for more training! 🤩

As a 2023 Managing Reactivity program graduate, Wally and his owners are back for additional lessons to keep his obedience skills sharp, improve his recall around distractions, and to continue decreasing his excitement around other dogs. A happy face like this makes training fun! 🐾

Oliver is a DayBreak Dog Training Graduate x2! He has most recently completed the Day Training program, focusing on LOTS of advanced training. 50+ hours and 10+ public outings later, I’m going to say he’s a pretty good boy. 😉

JAGER ❤️ the 1 year old Belgian Malinois is currently enrolled in the Managing Reactivity program. 🐾

Jager struggles with very intense reactivity towards moving vehicles, men, etc. With Behavior Adjustment Training™️, Jager is learning that disengaging with the trigger equals a big payout (blueberries!). During our first lesson, Jager’s owner was able to work up to no reactions at 20 yards when previously, Jager was almost breaking his neck at 200 yards. Progress over perfection, but I’d say that’s a big improvement! Good job, bud!

Please be mindful of the outdoor weather and where you’re walking with your dog! Soon, asphalt and concrete will become unsafe walking surfaces.

Avoid walking midday and protect your dog’s paws with wax or booties. 🐾

This kiddo is learning impulse control around distractions (birds and squirrels are hard!) and polite leash manners. I’m looking forward to our walks over the next week.

KAIA 🤎 the 9 (ish) year old American Bulldog Mix is currently enrolled in the Obedience Training program. 🐾

Old dogs can learn new tricks! This sweet old gal is in training to improve her obedience and work on some other issues like separation anxiety and destructive behaviors. I can’t wait to see her boost in confidence over the next few weeks.

TEDDY 🧡 the 1 year old Labradoodle is currently enrolled in the Obedience Training program. 🐾

As a graduate of the Walk & Train program last year, Teddy is back in training to sharpen up his obedience skills, work on his dog excitability, and to build his confidence around new people and in new environments.

We’ve got a familiar face back in training!

OLIVER ❤️ the 2 year old Cockapoo is currently enrolled in the Day Training program. 🐾

This pup will be spending a lot of time with me over the next few weeks working on advanced obedience, public behavior, and task foundations. Oliver is very smart and picks up on new things quickly, which works to our advantage. I’m looking forward to seeing what we are able to accomplish!

LEFTY 💙 the 12 week old Golden Retriever and his owner joined me for the Puppy Foundations program today 🐾

Puppies are pretty dang cute, but can be hard to manage! It may not seem like it, but there’s more than sharp teeth and scratchy nails. Lefty is off to a great start, thanks to his owners’ dedication to create a safe and happy home environment and a well-adjusted dog. I’m excited to see how this pup progresses in the next few months. Good luck, Lefty!

PANCAKE 💛 the 1 year old Labrador Retriever is currently enrolled in the Obedience Training program. 🐾

Pancake is as sweet as syrup! Our goal in training is to manage undesirable behaviors such as jumping on people and pulling on leash, sharpen up her obedience skills, and learn to ignore distractions so her family can enjoy taking advantage of the local dog friendly communities.

COSMO 💙 the 1 year old Border Collie is currently enrolled in the Walk & Train program. 🐾

Kicking off the year with one of my favorite breeds. 😉 Cosmo is your typical herding dog…busy, busy, busy! With always ‘somewhere to be’, Cosmo is quite the leash puller. Over the next two weeks, we’re going to turn daily walks from a chore to a fun family activity. Check back next Friday to see his progress!
