🐶 Lindsay Rodenkirchen: She learned sign language during her lunch break to better communicate with a client—a true example of going above and beyond (and she crochets too!).

Global Dairy Farmers webinar tomorrow night features Dr Katie Denholm from the University of Glasgow presenting her research conducted alongside CVG vets, technicians and farmers.

It will be an informative discussion on the impact extended feeding of colostrum has on dairy calf replacements.

This week, our vet Kate joined LLM Farm Vets to sharpen her skills in dairy fertility management and even tackle a few LDA surgeries.

She made light work of the procedure while also sharing insights about how we handle things north of the border!

⛑🩺 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝗶𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴: 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗱!

At Clyde Vets, we’re not just here for your animals—we’re first aid trained for humans too! Over 40 members of our team, including vets, nurses, and support staff, have just completed first aid training with the British Red Cross.

Some of our team completed their first-time qualifications, while others refreshed their skills to ensure they’re always prepared. This training equips our team with vital skills and the confidence to act quickly in emergencies, whether that’s in the workplace or the wider community.

𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿!

Friendly reminder that farmers in Scotland can claim up to £500 per year through the Sustainable Farming Grant, by addressing two animal health interventions on their farm!

For a payment of £250 per intervention, you need a vet to initiate an investigation and provide a clear action plan to address health concerns.

🔥🐄🎆 𝗕𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄!

While we're all excited for the fireworks and toasty bonfires, let's remember to be mindful of livestock during the celebrations. Fireworks can be pretty startling. Loud bangs and bright lights can stress them out and lead to injuries. So, here are a few tips to reduce any stress:

If you know of any nearby displays, remind them about your livestock and ask about their plans. It's all about good communication! Encourage them to opt for quieter fireworks if possible.

Timing is everything: hopefully displays will be at a considerate hour, but depending on the start time, consider starting milking or feeding a bit earlier so the animals have time to settle before it gets really loud.

Check for strays: After the celebrations, make sure no livestock wandered off due to the noise. They might need a little extra TLC.
