It may be Valentine's Day, but itโ€™s a no from us ๐ŸชฑโŒ

Grazing season isnโ€™t here yet, BUT now is the time to think about lungworm vaccinations. Lungworm doesnโ€™t just affect youngstock, adult cattle can also be at risk if they aren't able to build up enough immunity through grazing.

We recommend speaking to your vet to assess your lungworm history and form a testing and vaccination plan if you havenโ€™t done so already.

Winter is a great time to get your parasite control plan in check. Creating a list of "to-do" now will help you keep on top of parasite control through the busy Spring and Summer.

Happy Valentine's Day from all of us at Clyde Vets๐Ÿ’™

As farmers we look after our animals and our cropsโ€ฆ but we sometimes forget about looking after ourselves.

We are proud to support Farm Safety Foundation - Yellow Wellies in their 2025 campaign๐Ÿ’›

At a time when 91% of all UK farmers rank poor mental health as one of the biggest hidden dangers facing the industry letโ€™s remember what we love about farming and why we matter.

Our vet Meghan attended The Calf Conference 2025 in Dumfries - an educational event dedicated to all aspects of successful calf and youngstock rearing!

It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with passionate farmers, vets, and industry experts, discussing key topics on calf health, nutrition, and farm efficiency. With insightful talks and valuable takeaways, the event reinforced the importance of proactive management in youngstock rearing.

A big thank you to the organisers and speakers for such an informative day! ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿฎ

๐Ÿ„ Yesterday, we held our Dairy Focus Group meeting on Anti-Inflammatories in Lame Cows.

We presented the results of a trial we've done with 3 of our dairies, looking at the impact of Ketofen on the mobility score and milk yield of lame cows, and were joined by Ceva Ruminants UK who shared some of their experiences using Ketofen in a range of conditions.

Each lame cow on the trial had its feet inspected for lameness and was treated with ketofen plus any other treatment deemed necessary. Of the 82 cows identified as lame over 80% were sound by the next month's mobility score.

A big thank you to Ceva for joining us and to everyone who attended๐Ÿšœ๐Ÿฎ
