Nettie’s Story

Nettie came to us originally as a foster from a rescue in November 2017.

Nettie is a 7 year old female French bulldog who was previously used for breeding.

We took her to our vets the night I picked her up and he said it was a hot spot but a week later it had grown so I got a second opinion who said it was a grade 3 tumour, she went on steroids for 10 days to try and shrink it as it was to large to operate on due to it being near her a**s. The vets then removed the tumour and as much as possible , but because it’s a grade 3 it has 90% chance coming back so they then referred us to Fitzpatrick’s to start an extensive schedule of chemo.

This all happened in a very short time and we couldn’t get insurance to cover it as we found out about the cancer whilst we were fostering her, we had no intention of keeping her but decided to adopt her and give her the best chance possible.
