Poo - lite Notice. 💩

Please would all our secure field hire users remember to pick up their dogs poo. 💩

We’ve received a couple of complaints from other users, that they are finding poo, whilst they are in the field.

Likewise, if you are in or around our car park area, it is your responsibility to pick up your dogs poo. Not ours!!

If we are in taking your dog down to kennels or returning your dog to reception, then that is our responsibility to deal with!

A waste bin is provided in the car park, and if you don’t have any poo bags with you, you only have to ask a member of staff for one, or we sell them in our reception.

Your understanding, cooperation and respect on this matter is very much appreciated.

Listen up!

Let us tell you something! If you don’t already know, Hest Bank Kennels also has a five star Cat Retreat, and four luxury Lodges,
all finished to a high quality and specification.

We ensure our accommodation is to the highest standards for our feline guests with both chalets and lodges completed in UPVC, underfloor heating, large windows, and secure outdoor Catio’s.

Each and every guest is treated like royalty, in their individual suites, including beds, bedding, scratching post, little trays and
also toys for enrichment. Meals
are served twice a day, unless otherwise requested, and time is spent with each cat whilst in our care. We even provide a pet limousine, subject to availability.

Nothing is too much trouble!

Hey, I’m Edward!

I’ve been staying here a short while, as my owner is away on business!
It’s great here, with plenty of daily fresh vegetables, feeding hay and lots of interaction from the staff.
There are other smaller furry guests staying, so we chat and catch up with current affairs and World news!
With it being my first time away from home, I was apprehensive, but I’ve settled into my hutch and feel quite at home.

It’s not just dogs and cats that stay at Hest Bank Kennels, they do look after other pets too.

Each dog is exercised onsite, despite us having Hest Bank shore or Lancaster Canal not too many miles away!

Life of luxury………

These two cute cheeky siblings recently stayed in one of our luxury Cat Lodges.

They certainly relaxed in their play tower, whilst admiring the triple aspect views, listening to classical music 24/7. We even offer TV/DVD in all our lodges for that enhanced experience.

Our five star Cat Retreat is open for business, adjacent to the cat lodges, with underfloor heating throughout, spacious chalets and both accommodations offer outdoor Catios. (Bbrrrrrrr when the weather isn’t as cold!)

Happy New Year!

We are back open today, normal hours and fully operational.

It’s been busy with enquiries and bookings for this year, and we’ve even taken our first booking for Christmas 2025!

As the year draws to a close, we reflect on our last twelve months.

During the last six years we’ve seen an increase in pet ownership, some more unusual pets, with lifestyle changes, home working, and the desire from customers for us to care for their “extended family”.

Sadly some of our regular guests have passed, and we think of them and their owners at this time.

As a business, we’re always looking forward, developing, meeting our customers needs, as well as the licence regulations within the pet boarding industry.

Our opening times on Sundays have now been extended in line with Saturday. Opening from 8:30am has made a massive difference and allows you to drop off or collect your pets even sooner.

We have also upgraded our kennel heating system with an eco friendly, air to air heating and air conditioning system, making them even more “homely”.

Additionally we have our newly commissioned indoor aviary, perfect for small cage birds, inc.
budgies, African Greys, macaws or cockatoos. Plus our newly designed burrow for small furry friends, and our vivarium, home to reptiles, tortoises, snakes or bearded dragons.

Our most satisfying achievement of 2024 was being nominated by the Pet Industry Federation, for “Cattery of the Year”. Whilst we didn’t win this prestigious award, it’s is still a great honour and achievement!

We really are committed to serving and providing you with a truly professional pet care service.

We have some great news!! Our secure field is now ready for use, after many months of wet weather, it’s now been mowed and is fit for purpose. We charge £6:00 for 30 minutes, upto 4 dogs. Additional dogs are £1:00 each within the 30 minutes. To book (subject to availability during our opening times and condition of field) telephone us on 01524 822473. Regrettably, we are unable to take XL Bully breeds due to our business insurers restrictions. We will be closed next Monday as it is a Bank Holiday. Easter Holidays With the Easter holidays only less than two weeks away, now is the time to book your pets in with us. Our most satisfying achievement of 2023 is our brand new Cattery and luxury Lodges. Awarded five stars by the local licence authority, we offer a unique experience in cat boarding.
