Enjoyed this...still got 4 weeks to wait till our sheep start to "Push push push" but what a great way to remember all the important equipment needed - just sing this song! πŸ˜ƒπŸ‘

Well we made the most of the beautiful day and our amazing countryside yesterday...in-between the storms πŸƒπŸŒ¬
Thankfully I think we have been quite lucky with Sadly, just this 1 old tree down near Feizor - quite sad as it's always been there, from when I used to ride past on my shetland. Amazing how it missed taking the wall down! Koda was on his toes too, and thought many of you would identify with this little cartoon! 😁🐎

Oh...we just appeared on BBC News at 10! Well, our field and the snow did! πŸ˜†β„οΈ
Thanks North Yorkshire Weather Updates for posting this video and for highlighting the plight of sheep in snowdrifts πŸ‘ Thankfully, we brought our pregnant girls down from that field just before the snow, and they are all tucked up, as "snug as a bug in a rug". The tups and the younger sheep were not quite so lucky but all safe and the horses enjoyed a brief play out in the snow β„οΈπŸ‘πŸ΄πŸ•

Well, sadly one of the last Rawlinshaw bred Ponies has been put to sleep this week πŸ˜•
Zak, was bred 26yrs ago from one of Roberts mares who you may remember...Bumble.
He was a very handsome lad, who Ruth took under her wing and broke and brought on. He found his forever home with Liz and loved his eventing and hunting and life in general. I think we managed to find some photos of him as a foal, with his mum in the background on one 😊
Hugs to all who knew this wonderful horse, bred here at Rawlinshaw 🐎

Wonderful "Hunters Moon" here tonight πŸŒ•
Our models were not overly impressed being photographed in the dark and we also seem to have some strange metal Hare with the moon on his head? 🐰
So lucky to be in such a great star gazing area.

What is a Supermoon?
A supermoon happens when the moon’s orbit is closest to Earth, known as perigee, and at the same time the moon is full.

The moon will then appear slightly brighter (up to 30 per cent) and larger (up to 14 per cent) than a regular full moon hence the name β€œsupermoon”.

It appears brighter because when it is at its closest to earth, more of the Sun’s rays reflecting off the lunar surface make it to Earth.

It appears larger because supermoon rises and sets on the horizon and so looks bigger due to what is known as the β€œmoon illusion”.

What are the Supermoon Names?
January – Wolf moon
February – Snow moon
March – Worm moon
April – Pink moon
May – Flower moon
June – Strawberry moon
July – Buck moon
August – Sturgeon moon
September – Harvest/Full Corn moon
October – Hunter’s moon
November – Beaver moon
December – Cold moon

Enjoy the 3rd Supermoon of the year...it will still be visible tomorrow πŸŒ•
