So we adopted this old boy a few days ago!

A bittersweet story for Beans, I have been visiting him for a while now but unfortunately his owner is unable to keep him due to Illness. I am honoured to have been his number one choice and honestly how could I say no to that face ❤️

Cats really can be loyal, loving creatures. I think he knows he’s come to the right place!

RELAX!

That’s what we go on holiday for, right? To relax....

Cats on average sleep for about 15 hours a day, they have mastered the art of relaxing. So why disturb them in their own comfortable spaces when you go away? You don’t have to! 😻

I think we could all do with a break after the uncertainty over the past year. And I’ve been deprived from cat cuddles for too long 🤣 Treat yourselves to the break you deserve, without the guilt of stressing out your precious moggy!

The Wednesday boys all on their best behaviour! Very proud of all of them, especially Hendrix (black Lab pup on the far right) He’s still very young and excitable, but he’s growing up to be such a well mannered dog. A huge credit to his owners who I know have spent a lot of time working with him, which I carry on when he’s out with me.

With the nice weather the canal was really busy, runners, bikes, other dogs, kids and people feeding the ducks. But they’ve all proven themselves once again and taken it in their stride, despite all the distractions ❤️

This is exactly what a pack should look like.

I don’t even know where to begin with this post, but last night we had to say goodbye to our beautiful girl Lucy.

Almost 13 years together this is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. As most of you already know, Lucy was diagnosed with lung cancer at the end of last year. But that didn’t stop her until last night, she’d even been for a swim yesterday afternoon!

But let’s focus on the positive, Lancaster Pet Heroes wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for Lucy. After my troublesome school days and leaving school at 15, suffering with depression and anxiety this dog truly changed my life. Getting me out every day, speaking to people again, a couple of years later this business was born. We’ve met some incredible people and their animals on this journey together, a lot of them now being friends for life. She’s helped me being a role model for our new recruits! Teaching puppies how to be a “dog” 😂 helped me with nervous dogs bringing them out of their shell and rounding up the naughty ones that won’t come back 😂

I truly believe she couldn’t have had a better life, she just loved everyone she met. We will miss you so much Lucy, but you have no idea how much you changed my life for the better. We love you so much ❤️

Lead Walking!

This is so important for calm dogs. With every dog I walk, the first thing I work on is good manners when walking on the lead. Not only does it make my life easier, it transitions to anyone else walking them so we both don’t get tied in knots!

Calm walking, calm mind, calm dog. And yes, they get to run riot when they are off lead 😂 it’s all about balance!

I brought Beccy out on her lunch break, she had never walked these 4 together before but they’ve all learnt how to walk nicely with me... So that’s exactly what they do!

It may seem tough at first to get to this stage but before you know it, it becomes the norm 🙂

A dog with direction is a happy, confident dog.

A dog without direction is a stressed dog AND a stressed owner! (Or dog Walker! 🤣🤣)
